Is there anyway to get an early upgrade through Verizon before my March 2012 upgrade? I tried to call Verizon and they told me no. Any ideas?

I'm in the same boat as you.I'm going to the store tomorrow.I'll let you know what they say.

Add a line to your account and get the rezound for the new line. The new line costs another $10 per month but you can probably get an awesome deal on the resound.

You will have to do the math to see if that works for you.

I tried whatever i could to get a free upgrade. Called up verizon and told them i was having issues with my phone and that it is "pushing me towards leaving with my 3 lines of service to another carrier". I called multiple times saying this and got the same answer everytime: "Sorry you're having issues. I can get you a refurb but that's the best i could do. I can't move up your upgrade until it's been 20 months".

They're alot more strict about it now than they used to be. In the end, i was able to take an upgrade from an added line, but as far as i can see, that's your only option. Or full retail.

fyi, it's more like $13 once you factor in tax and fees for an extra family line. And you'd have to have a basic phone to switch to the added line, unless you want to pay $20/mo (min) additional for data on that line

I got Verizon to move my upgrade up a whole year. Mine wasn't up til Nov 2012 but I have been through 5 thunderbolt replacements. Told them I was getting fed up. First guy wouldn't let me but called the next day and the supervisor lady was super nice and understanding. She let upgrade to the Rezound for 299. I then sold my tbolt for 230. Freakin love the Rezound! If the first rep doesn't let you call back and try again.

so mine is dec 31... do you think they'll let me if i call? and if i call...what area do u press..its like 1 is...2 is... and 3 is tech something... ?

So the answer is clear. We need to make excuses to go through 5 refurbs and then they'll say "whoa whoa whoa. This is too much trouble. Upgrade away"

...I wonder if that would work. If your phone could be working perfectly fine, but then complain and get sent a refurb. Then complain about that one and recycle repeat a couple times and get a free upgrade.

I don't know. I tried twice already and was told I had to wait or pay FULL retail price.. For the life of me I don't understand why they won't let us upgrade. I told them to renew me for another 4 years if they want. Still nothing. Any other ideas?

Nope. You will only get 2gb. Just added a line and my son only got 2gb that is how I know.

Yeah, and in 9-12 months you'd want the next new thing and be stuck in contract for 4 years, but you'd be callin wanting to upgrade so ummm, let's make it 8 years but let me upgrade again, please, please, pleeeeasssse?

Sound just like my 5 year old grandson.....

Don't be a A**H*** :mad::mad:!!!!!

Adding a line seems like a good idea....Hmmmm wonder how that works with unlimited data.

I added my mom onto my account. She is using a super old Razr from 2006. She was going month to month on no contract. I used that upgrade for myself and got the Rezound. No data plan added. She now has a two year contact but she isn't going anywhere so it works out in the end

Yea I guess so :-\ . The first guy was even hesitant to let me upgrade after my 5 refurbs. Had to call back and talk to someone else. It also helped that she saw I was a long time loyal VZW customer.

Here is what I did. I had my Incredible and was due for an upgrade this upcoming February. I had to call 3 times in a row and all 3 I ended up speaking with the customer loyalty department whose job it is to keep customers. I kept going in with the thought of leaving to go to Sprint if they didn't let me upgrade because I told them that I absolutely hate my phone.

They kept giving me the "we can upgrade you to anything but a 4G phone" line and I had to keep pressing until finally on the 3rd attempt I asked to actually speak live with a supervisor in the loyalty program instead of having the rep ask the supervisor.

Eventually, the supervisor agreed to ask their boss and call me back on Monday (since it was Friday evening) and sure enough she called me with the good news that they would let me do it, but I had to pay a $20 upgrade fee. It definitely helped that the supervisor could not rationally describe to me why it would make sense to lose a 12 year customer as oposed to just letting me buy the phone 3 months early. Also, I kep sticking with the point that if I did wait until my upgrade date, I would then be getting $50 off for new every two and buying it with a corporate discount so they might as well let me buy the phone now for $300. Not to mention the rep I spoke with the previous night told me that I would get $40 off my bill in the month of February if I did stay with Verizon and wait until Feb to upgrade.

Now I have my Rezound and I hope you all can get one too. Good luck.

Hmm. I may call them one more time. I have 5 lines though Verizon an am the account holder. Thanks for the tips. Congrats on getting the rezound. :)

I was not eligible for an upgrade on any 3 of my lines until Jan 2013. Ive had to replace my iphone 4 twice and I called to do early upgrade for rezound. First said yes and it was pending then got canceled. I called again and the OUTSOURCED guy told me no way I could do it. Finally I called hit the option for disconnect, told the rep the problems with my iphone and she was more than willing to upgrade me then and there for the rezound. They didnt want to lose my 3 lines of service.
