If anyone wants to try an Ice Cream Sandwich ROM, this one seems to be pretty slick.

[ROM][ICS] Android Open Kang Project Fassy Test Port - xda-developers

There seems to be an issue with MMS, other than that, everything else seems to be functioning perfectly.

Has some nice customization options. I've only been running it for a day or so, but it seems pretty stable, and very smooth and quick. We shall see what, if any, major issues pop up.

Some screenshots, just because I feel like it! So far this ROM is really stable...not sure I like having the Google search bar on every screen.

Yeah that one has been around for awhile, and everything seems to be working. This AOKP is pretty brand spanking new, just wanted to share the news with folks here. Not a whole lot of difference between the two, other than the customizations available on AOKP, which I don't think are the same in the THS ICS ROM you both mentioned. Thanks! Call volumes and echo are still issues with these ROMS, as far as I can tell.

Has anyone tried AOKP_fascinatemtd_Milestone_5_Glitched? I'm running it at present. It seems to be quite stable and everything seems to work.

I'm gonna drop it on my wife's fascinate and give it a test run.

Was running it for a bit to compare with THS. I liked some of the added features but had a total brick one day. Went into sleep of death, after a battery pull it would only boot into recovery. Terribly annoying since I was at work and nothing I tried with what I had on the phone (cache wipes, data wipes, nandroid restores, reinstalling any ROM zips I had on my SD card) worked. Had to wait to get home and Odin back to EH03 to bring it back to life. May just be a random thing, and I wouldn't expect it to happen I tried that ROM again, but I've never had a problem with any of the THS builds so I plan on sticking with them.

Sent from my ICS'd Galaxy S.

Since there' s not too much activity here I thought I'd check in with y'all.

AOKP is FANTASTIC imo - I'm now on Build 38 and I'm using the new (excellent) Devil kernel - [Kernel][ICS] Devil3_0.79 [18/06/12] - Fascinate - xda-developers

The amount of options in this kernel are mind bottleing. Also - it has optional Voodoo Color - oh how I've missed you. Perhaps CM color is more "true" but there's something about the VC that just makes me want to stare at my screen.

Mind bottling? Yikes.

Anyway, the final AOKP build, Milestone 6, is available at xda, complete with Devil and Glitch'd versions. Devil version is .99, but he has since released 1.0.0

Currently, portions of the AOKP team are working on the SG3 and also porting Jelly Bean to the fascinate.

Yes m6 is just fantastic for me - I had a few issues with the .99 and 1.0RC3 Devil kernels - seems like there is a memory leak of some kind. Once it gets worked out I'll upgrade, but running .79 on AOKP Glitched m6 and it's really a great experience imo.

We're very fortunate and a JB release for the Fascinate does not seem too far off. Best news is that JT is coming back to our phone.
Who would a thunk - the "TOP" phones like the One X and S3 probably won't see official JB for 6 months or more and here we are getting it on our Fascinate. I strongly encourage everyone interested to support the devs - if not with money than just by showing interest and appreciation.

I was in a funk a month back thinking I "NEEDED" an upgrade, but now I'm just about as happy as can be with my ol' Fascinate.
