I just installed AOKP ROM and have Francos Kernel installed (previously). My battery life seems to suck right now. I switch to battery percent vs bar so maybe it is the life is the same and having the percent is throwing me off.

Any recommendations? What should I be playing/tweaking with? Also what should I be adjust the voltages to? I tried to get info but I feel I am on an Easter Egg hunt trying to get information lately. So if anyone can help out it will be greatly appreciated.

***EDIT***
Even though I had Franco's Kernel Updater I was not actually running Franco's Kernel. I was running something else (imoseyon) and I did not realize it. I probably still need to wait a few days but my battery is not being sucked dry now.

For franco kernel, do you have the updater? I prefer that over the SetCPU feature in rom control.

Also, which franco kernel? His favored governor is on demand. I always do 384 mhz - 13XX mhz (whatever the highest option is), ondemand governor, and hot plug mod enabled (unless you can't, like in more recent nightlies IIRC).

On the days I've stretched my GN's sea legs, I've gotten 8-9 hours of moderate-heavy usage with 25-30% left.

I've been running AOKP off and on since they came out and have never had any battery issues. I never play around with the voltages and rarely change kernels so I'm sure someone will give you some good advice. Only thing I can think of is giving it more time to settle if you just flashed.

The settling is a good point. Some kernels, especially brand new ones, take a day or so to settle in for the effects to really take hold and for you to see their benefit. Some also suggest running it down, but I've never--ever--ran it down (well that's a lie, I did once). It's your call.

For voltages, it's REALLY phone specific. Some people start with increments---undervolting by 10-15 across the board, etc. I suggest making a nandroid before playing with voltages, lest you play with fire.

You just flashed rom. Roms need to settle. Don't even look at your battery drain for the next 2 days. Charge up when you need. After that you'll be able to judge it much better.

I have generic hotplug enabled to shut down one core with the screen off, and a bit of undervolting. I haven't found the sweet spot yet either. Be careful undervolting too much. I went too far and boot looped a bit.

My battery life is still worse than before this ROM, but I hear lots of complaints about 4.0.4 being crappy on battery.

I don't know... my busy life keeps getting in the way of me playing with it too much (the phone).

Here's what I've currently got going...

Thanks for all the feedback. I did not realized I should have been waiting for a few days as it settles.

How do you have 384 as an option? I have Franco's Kernel Updater from the app store. I just got it and i thought I was on the latest version.

I think I will wait on the voltage.

There seems to be a lot of ROMs and Kernels available for this phone. As well as a lot of tweaks within each ROM. As of right now there doesn't seem to be a central location in this forum, or others, to find all, or most, of the available ROMs and Kernels and user support (not install). The top thread listed as "[Guide] How To Backup, Restore & Install ROMs on The Galaxy Nexus" seems to be updating that part of the section. So hopefully that will make the things easier. However it is very nice that there is great community support. Thank you.

Here's a screenshot from my updater

Nope. That's the updater app. I'm on the 384 mhz gpu one too. Go to the updater app and look to see what you have.

Can you post a screenshot like I did?

Lol that's faux's kernel. That's what's currently packaged in aokp. Supposed to be very good he's got a big name out there.. I actually ran one of his earlier ones back in January or so for a bit.

He has the stock kernel cleaner thing, right? I think I ran that in my younger days (like 2 months ago).

Idk what you mean...? Lol

There was like a kernel reset. I believe faux did it. I'd have to check back and am too lazy right now due to tinkering w/ MORPHR + S Corps class lol
