ok, i have had the droid since saturday am and AOL mail has been working fine. then today, i started getting an error message (alert up top) "Sign In Error - Need To Update Password" prompting me to re-enter my password. when i enter my password, the wheels just spin and spin.

the error message pops up every few minutes asking for my password again...but it doesn't push new mail.

i also have a gmail account set up the same way and it works fine.

i have deleted and reinstallled the aol account several times...both usin g the "AOL" icon and using "other".

anyone else having this issue? i can tell if this is an andriod issue, aol issue or my phone.

Yep. It actually started acting up around the same time my Visual Voicemail messed up. Since we're not the only ones, I'm assuming it's just a network screw up on Verizon's end.

Right now my AOL mail is logged in, but pushing and sending e-mails can take up to 10 minutes and another 2-3 minutes for them to load.

that sounds about the same time frame its taking me to load. lets keep this thread updated to any improvement. i can deal with this longer than a day or two. this is my work email.

I am having the same issue it started yesterday morning and has continued to today. the other issue that i am seeing is that when i delete an email it does not go into the trash folder also any email that i send goes in to the outbox folder but then never ends up in the sent messages folder so i have no way to review my sent mail. Is anyone else having these issues as well. My guess would be it is an Aol server issue.

I did a little digging and odds are this is an AOL server issue. This seems to happen across multiple devices a couple times a year. It appears there is nothing we can do but wait it out...

it's better today...especially within the past hour. i am not getting notifications up top,, but the emails are coming into the mailbox. i just have to manually check them.

i also have to use task manager to get the wheels to stop spinning and looking for more emails.

i just came over from 5 years of blackberry and never had this problem.

OMG I am having the same issues. My Incredible was stolen and just got the Charge 13 days ago. The Incredible would have all my emails ready in inbox when I woke up...now this phone is driving me crazy..took 20 minutes to download 14 emails this morning with no attachments!!

I almost went to Verizon store to slap the guy with the phone..but luckily it was closed and found this post! LOL

Did Verizon resolve anything with yours after speaking with them?

Please post response so Verizon guy don't get hurt..lol!

Mine has been completely back to normal since the 20th, I haven't seen anyone else posting errors since then either?

The same thing is happening to me yesterday and today. It's frustrating. I've had my droid for 6 months and this is the first issue. What can I do?

One way or another it seems that this issue is not the phones fault. You can try clearing the data.on the app itself or give verizon a call

in my past experience i found that AOL is very agressively always working to find some way to control what ever system happens to be using it.. For the life of ne i can not understand anyone with an android ph wanting to turn the leesh over to AOL for anything.

and no need to say Aol is not a possive program.. if on a pc it always is intertwined within the windows setup. halting or allowing what it thinks..

i tossed Aol bout 10 years ago and have been happy every since.. anyone with any common sense can run their own Pc Ph or etc with out interference from AOL..

do i hate that program and everything it has to offer... Yes i do..
