Ok, showing my extreme ignorance here on technology and what is available. But my wife and I are driving cross country in June to see our son and grandson. She'll fly back while I am driving and taking my time. (Retired so I can do this). Is there an app where it will show me interesting sites to stop and see based on the route I am on? Could be historical, fun and so on. I know there is so much along our highways/interstates that we easily miss for a lack of signs so I was wondering if there is an app that can assist.

One place to start is Google Maps. I guess if you have particular interests then doing some research online before the trip would help supplement what info there is on Google Maps.

Google Maps allows you to set it up to point out interesting areas? I use Waze when driving to monitor traffic as I found Googlemaps would not stay open for me like Waze does. Was hoping to not have to stop all the time and research areas but I would imagine an app like this may be difficult to produce.

It's possible I just do not know how to use Waze for things like this but have never seen it do what I am looking for. I do it non stop while driving on interstates though to monitor traffic.
