I'm going from an HTC Incredible 2 to a Galaxy Note 2 (both UNrooted). I have several apps that I don't want to lost my data for-high scores, levels, etc-and I can't figure out how to transfer all of that. I tried My Backup Pro, but it has to have root access to transfer data (It'll move the APK files, but really, I can do the same thing from the google play store!). I am so frustrated right now, because I love my new phone, but I REALLY don't want to have to start over on some of my apps. (I play several RPGs...lots of hours in those!) All of my apps came from the google play store. Any idea how I can transfer my data???

Thanks,
Kelly

The only way i know of to truely backup & restore ALL your data, is to be rooted and use an app such as titanium backup. It shouldn't be too hard to root your phones, download titanium, run the backup to the sdcard, and then restore it to your new phone. I've had to do that for my wifes new phone.

But you do have to be rooted to get ALL your data and saves, atleast as far i know, i may be wrong. But goodluck, keep posting if you need help with anything.

And if you do decide to root, you won't lose any data i promise, and once you restore you can really quickly flash back to stock. So you don't have stay rooted if you don't want to.

You can use Helium: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ils?id=com.koushikdutta.backup&token=TJzBoogc

For unrooted devices you'll need to use the PC program alongside the app. Read the app information for further details.

How do I go about rooting my phones? I've never done that before, and a lot of the information I've read is just confusing. :/

It is confusing because there is no one general way to gain root access to a device. Try looking up the unlockr on Google.

You can also search for your device & carrier in the forums here. I know there's a fairly straight forward one for the note 2 on this site, just make sure to only use the guide for your specific carrier! Very important! And i know there's one for the incredible 2 as well.

Which carrier are you on? I can find you the rooting guide for the note 2, you can find the at&t version here if you happen to have them. And verizon's is here

On the note 2, i know have to unlock the bootloader before you're able to root your device, really easy. So just read through the guides a couple times first, and you'll be fine. If in doubt, ask questions.

And by the way I've been rocking M.O.A.R. on my S3 for the past month or so too, and it is the best rom ever!! And I'm assuming you drive a MK3 gti right? VR6 i hope!

No. More like a Taylor Made, or Cobra with a white ball on a course. Good one though...took me a minute tto catch on...lol
