Just received my 2014 X and the app icons are huge. Anyway to make them smaller without using a launcher?

Yes, you can use an application called icon changer free. Its pretty self explanatory download it and allow you to change the size of the app icons on your desktop not in the app draw just the desktop. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I don't think you can do that with any quick settings... unfortunately Google launcher doesn't really have any settings. This and many other things is why I love using Nova launcher. It's simple, but very powerful. And you can resize all the icons in one setting and change the number of icons on your screen... personally, I prefer 5 by 5 grid on my screen, plus 6 icon's on the bottom bar. Plus Nova is always enhancing their app, and making things better as new operating system versions come out.

I already had nova prime. Wanted to keep the phone on stock but nova doesn't lose anything either. Thanks.
