App Notifications resetting

I have 2 apps that I prefer to not have notifications from; boom beach and clash of clans. In settings under apps I set both apps to block all notifications, yet they seem to reset themselves to allow all notifications. This happens over and over again.
Thoughts?

Update...
I set notifications to block all for the 2 apps, restarted my phone and the setting reverted to allowing notifications.

Is there a Setting within both of the Apps to control notifications?

Nope. Good question, but the real mystery to me is why Android isn't remembering the setting...

I'm having a similar issue but slightly different. I go into certain apps like my messaging app and Facebook app and turn off allow peeking in those apps. Yet I still get the heads up notifications. As far as my situation goes, when I go into the settings, allow peeking is still turned off. It is remembering my setting but just ignoring it.

I seem to be having both of these issues. Did you ever find a solution?

Nope. Every time I power off and on again I have to manually set it to block notifications.

Same issue with no peeking option on my LG G4 with Marshmallow
I swear I'm starting to hate Android more and more with each new version.

I'm on pure stock, and have NOT rooted... WHAT GIVES?
