App suddenly refuses to open

[AC Question]

I have an app that refuses to open. It's actually a live wallpaper, but acts as an app too. It has worked fine for about a month, but suddenly it stopped working. Now when I tap the app, I am presented with 'Unfortunately, (app) has stopped' message that appears 3 times and requires 3 hits of the OK button before the exit can happen.

I am at a loss here. I have checked my system for malware/viruses, wiped my app cache with CCleaner, wiped the individual apps' data, uninstalled/reinstalled, rebooted, wiped the system recovery cache, and still nothing. Literally, nothing helps.

Welcome to Android Central! Did this start after a recent system update? If so, something with that update might be causing incompatibility for the live wallpaper app. Try sending an email to the developer of that live wallpaper to see if they are aware of any issues with your phone and its current firmware.

Which live wallpaper is it? Does it have any interactive features or access the web? If so, check if your Android System Webview app is up to date in the Google Play Store. If there's an update available, go ahead and update it and see if that helps. But if it's already updated, try uninstalling all updates (by tapping the Uninstall button), since updates to this app can sometimes cause problems with certain devices and apps.
