Does anyone have any good recommendations as to which apps are the best, in terms of having thunderbolt SD card appear as a device in a home network? I have played around with some FTP apps, but is there anything that would make it appear as a device under network places?

WiFi File Explorer runs a little web server so you can browse the phone. I use it to get files of easily via WiFi. This is browser based, not file explorer
I use the same program, but it does not make the SD card show up in network places. You type in the ip address your phone is broadcasting to and you can then access your phone's SD card in your browser. It works really well to transfer files wirelessly. I don't know of any apps that do exactly what you're asking.
