App to monitor what apps are started and when?

I am looking for an app that can tell me what apps were started by the user and when, and maybe how long they used it? I know I could parse the system log with logcat, but I am hoping there is something simpler.

I haven't seen such an app. But if it's out there and you find it be sure to share some thoughts with us.

What specifically are you trying to do? Perhaps there is an alternative such as creating certain user profiles and limiting which apps are used for that specific profile.

I want to track what apps my 10YO daughter uses. One, I want to know if she is watching movies and playing games after she goes to bed! :) But I am also interested in what games and what educational apps are getting any use. So I really need start and stop times.

I checked out App Usage Tracker, but it doesn't appear to show app start and stop times.

My guess is, there are no apps to do this. For one, what does it mean to start and stop an android app? If you start an app, press the home button, and come back an hour later, the app is still "running". That, and the way android apps are compartmentalized, I don't think it is really possible to have one app monitor all apps on the device and keep track of when they are run.

Of course, I could be completely wrong! :)
