I have been looking for an app that will allow me to video chat with a group of Apple fans. They use FaceTime and have no interest in adding another video app to their phone (response to me - just buy an iPhone). To make matters a little more challenging the group uses a mix of Apple products (Mac's, iPad and iPhones), so I understand the reluctance this group has to agree on a new standard.

I have researched the issue and so far I have not identified any Android (ICS) apps that are compatible. Choices like Skype, Fring and Tango appear to require both phones to be running the platforms version of the product (hence adding an additional app on the iPhone users - which I don't have "control" over). Have I missed a product that will let me video chat with the iPhone crowd or am I going to have to pick up an experienced iPhone and give in... :(

Thanks for your feedback and suggestions

FaceTime is Apple only. You're out of luck if they don't want to use a separate app like Skype, Fring, or Tango.

If they're all on Google+, you can use Hangouts.

Thanks. Coming from an open system background thought there might be a product I hadn't tripped over yet. Not sure what I'll do to work around this challenge - not happy with any options I'm looking at so far.
