Apple: Get A Life!!!

Can't blame apple, they are running rather scared & have been for at least 18months now.

Their aim is to slow down the inevitable, android is more powerful, offers loads more customer choice regarding both OS & devices, has a much larger market share (already) & will soon to be the largest appstore, & android is only going to grow in both devices & apps, whereas iPhone is just a single brand & their appstore will slow down, as they lose more & more market share to android devices.

Apple have to play dirty to slow all this down, of course it's disgusting to see, but I think it's their only option for a company running scared.

I agree, this is the #1 reason, but this falls all on apple. Im not dissing the i products, im dissing the company. its poor managment trying to point fingers and play the name game and then be shocked when people fire back. its just pathetic. I dont see Google trying to sue them for stealing the new pull down notifications they magically have now..... hmmmm. Thats because Google doesnt care as they choose to advance and not be childish like them. the Nark is a friend of no one.

Google only recently was granted the patent for the pull down notification. And software patents work differently than you think.

Apple isn't really infringing on Google's pull down notification system. With software patents, you have to be infringing on EVERYTHING that is patented.

In Google's notification system, you see a notification drop in, leaving an app icon in the bar and pull the bar down to see the notifications that can be cleared 1 at a time, or all with the "Clear" button.

In Apple's notification system, you see a rotating/rolling popup that disappears and have to pull the bar down to see the notification which can only be cleared 1 at a time. The notification popup is different, and there is no "Clear/Clear All" button, so Apple isn't infringing on the patent.

If Apple's system showed a popup in the top bar that had an email icon that stayed, along with any other notification icon, and had a "clear all" type of button, it would be infringing.

Didn't Motorola do this to Apple in Germany?

Apple sued Motorola, Motorola counter sued on their push notification system, got it shut down.

Apple has and always will be the aggressor.. it's pretty crappy tactics.

In the end, it's us consumers that lose.

Mark my words: Apple's stock will tank in the next 3-5 years. Foxconn dropping $210 million on a new plant? Tim Cook wanting to take control over more of their supply chain?

We didn't spend that much on a new CAR plant a few years ago...and you can make a lot of money on those. They're in trouble.

I am done with Apples greed. I would rather paint half my face blue, stick android in my pocket and yell, unite the clans!

Not to sound rude... but I just heard blah blah blah. I understand about software. I had a rooted phone for a long time and done my fair share of research. I understand its slightly different.... but so was Samsungs Touchwiz... yet that didnt stop Apple from try to go after them. Cheaters never prosper. If Apple was a good company they would focus on there growth. Not suing others and haulting production of good companys like HTC for no reason. like I said.... They make good products. I'm not saying this to be a Fandroid, They just need to stop being childish and man up.

Google is always thinking of new ideas with inovating software like ICS, Changing tons of process, scripts, etc. But all I see from Apple is stealing ideas like notifications (infringment or not) Sorry if this offends, I'm just tired of everyone backing up a company that steals, cheats, and take credit that isn't theres. (This is not a directed at iPhone users, or even Apple employees) It's called integrity.

Apple does make good products, and they have great customer retention. I am all for that, but seriously, they are the petty. It is a petty company, and they would rather you have them or nothing. The notification panel on Apple is horrid compared to android. I love my 4S, it has been one of my favorite devices of all time. The apps are incredible, and everything goes the distance. That said, I miss androids functionality.

I get the argument that many companies have sued apple, and they have a right to sue as well. It pisses people off including me, but they are not doing anything wrong and the laws allow them to. I know it is annoying, but as said for ages, vote with your wallet.

Aren't you one of the moderators? Sorry, but rants like this don't have a place in the conversation, either from the apple drones or the fandroids.

The patent wars, in which Apple is the main aggressor, is the major news in the mobile tech industry today. And you feel it has no place in the conversation. That's just not going to happen. In order not to hear about it you're going to have to have earplugs, a blindfold and a cot in a coal mine.

Good luck with that.

Yes, apple the company made up of thousands of individual employees in several different departments need to get a life.

if you don't like what apple is doing, that's fine, don't buy their products and tell others not to, but I don't get why people feel the need to personify a company. There is a legal department within apple that recommended to apple management that there could be infringements on apple's intellectual property and got approval to proceed with lawsuits to defend the patents, nothing more.

Nothing we all don't already know

Which is why it pisses me off to no end when I see threads on Android sites/forums saying naive things like "why so much hate for Apple...they don't do anything to you..." etc. They actually do. They are lying, deceitful, anti-consumer and restrictive, but people who are closet-fans of their dismiss these stories away and have some type of amnesia about it.

I'm glad somebody here isn't afraid to call them what they are. Now if we could just get some of the AC guys to do the same when HTC deserves to be called out, we'd really be getting somewhere.

I think actually they are.
I think Apple and FB will have big losses within the next 3 to 5 years.

I've become as big an Apple hater as anyone but you are clearly delusional if you think Apple is in trouble. Most people couldn't care less about specs or how limited ios is they just want an iPhone or ipad because it's an iPhone or ipad. It's easy to use, slick design and eye candy ui. They have most average consumers roped in. Add in the fact that most average consumers that don't know better and have a lot of $ tied up in itunes and ios apps and it is just easier for them to buy apples next incremental upgrade to hit the market.

And not to forget the "it must be the best because everyone else has it" effect. They won't ever be in trouble but they will inevitably lose some market share.

I will agree with you on FB though. I think it is already beginning to lose some of its steam similar to the way myspace did in the beginning.

I'm as sick as everyone else when it comes to these patent wars. However, if the news of Google's original idea for Android being a Blackberry competitor (physical keyboard phone) and only changed to a touchscreen once Eric Schmidt saw the original iPhone is true, then I'm be just as pissed as Apple is.

Hopefully the courts will figure this mess out quickly and side with consumers instead of corporations but a company does have the right to protect their intellectual property.
