I'm sorry but getting a patent for a motion, animation, etc. is just an abuse of the patent system and shame on our patent system for letting it happen.

It's not abuse, if you can patent something like that it means the system is broken... because you can simply do that, or else that patent contains method how to achieve such anumation

And Apple patenting black phones with rounded corners a little while ago isn't? Apple has been abusing the obviously-broken patent system for months now.

Shouldn't mean anything, they had the animation before the patent was allowed. Apple can suck a lemon if they think if they can just force them to get rid of it.

This isn't as significant as a lot of people are making it out to be, I don't think. The patent at a glance appears to be pretty broad, but the patent (as ridiculous as it is) narrowly defines Apple's current page turning animation, which is slightly different from what Google, B&N and Amazon use.

You have to remember though, to Apple "industry standard" means their standard.

Just because the system is broken, it doesn't mean these ridiculous patents aren't an abuse of the system.
