Apple loses lawsuit for not including charger...

Something a lot of their fans don't seem to realise... You don't get to be the most valuable company on the planet, or I suppose second most valuable now, by being consumer friendly lol

Right. Something like that old cliche of not being at the top without having to stand on other's shoulders.

That didn't even take into account the money they made off of people buying the chargers and earphones separately.. they couldn't get those numbers but said they could possibly be as high or higher than the 6.5 billion.

Speculation at its best. Lol. Why not go all in? By their logic, Apple could've made $20 billion, or even $50 billion off charger and ear bud sales.

Awfully big difference between what is theoretically possible and actual reality.

You all crack me up. So many people, when the "latest and greatest" smartphone is released (every 6 months or so) can't hand your credit card to Apple, Samsung or whoever fast enough. Yet this bothers you? Call me confused.

Its a great topic to go over nothing more and nothing less

Looks like some dont care and others understand what manufacturer are trying to do
Maybe I'm not making my point clear.

These companies make billions of dollars because we, the consumer, willingly dish out anything they ask for a fancy new phone more often than is truly necessary (in my eyes). We don't complain a bit. I'm confused as to why this is the thing to get people worked up.

I'm guess so many years having paid for premium device to come with the accessories and now still charging same price and not getting them .

It's the same reason we're on an Android forum, because I bet at some point, we were fed up of the iterative slow drip of innovation apple had us on, and saw that Android had more and innovative features with each passing year.

No one wants to feel taken advantage of, and the difference between upgrading a phone every 6 months, and nit picking about a charging brick is that we choose to upgrade, depending on the specs. When it comes to accessories though, there is no choice. That choice was taken from us across the board, at least by all the major American players.

You're right in the sense that in terms of optics, we look like we're indescriminantely throwing our money away into the same money pit, but if you take a closer look, it has nothing to do with cost or dollar amount and everything to do with being taken advantage of.

Aren't we being taken advantage of anyway? Finally Android is doing better with OS and security upgrades. I think we make excuses for our platform of choice.
You are right though, the reason I decided to come back to Android was because of the control Apple has and how they limit innovation.
All I'm saying is we, as consumers, need to stand up against ALL the efforts these companies make to rip us off daily. We have the ability to fight back. They are only successful if we allow them to be. Complaining about a charger seems, to me, to be trivial to the overall problem
Just my 2cents.

Well I'm also not buying newly released phones day one, and going out of my way to buy older tech. Right now, my 3 phone rotation is a Pixel 6 (bought April this year), a Note 10+ and a Pixel 4, both off of Amazon Renewed. Ever since Samsung suckered me in with gaudy specs and that Space Zoom garbage on the S20 Ultra, I've been hesitant to give them money directly.

You're right though, we need to take more stands, but just because we don't take all stands, doesn't mean we shouldn't take any stand. We pick and choose which battles to fight, but that war for our money will always rage on.

I'm like you and purchase used. I just won't spend top dollar for a phone. The marketing and tiny spec increases are ridiculous.

Like you said, we pick our battles. Each of us has to choose what is important to us and stick to it.

I think a lot of the folks complaining about everything now being removed from the phone package except a phone and a cord, for phones reaching upwards of $2000 in some cases, are people who only treat themselves to a phone purchase like that every few years. The people that are constantly juggling the latest and greatest I don't think care as much, because they're already paying plenty on a regular basis and have probably built up a stack of newer chargers.. some of which might even fast charge their latest phone..... and if not, they don't mind paying separately for the latest charger to charge their new toy.

My Samsung ZFlip 3 is only the third smartphone I've purchased when it was first released.. and my first Samsung. I normally pick up 1+ year old flagships to save money and use them for 3 years or so, because I think the new phones are overpriced. Since my Flip didn't come with a charger, I'm charging it with my pixel 18 watt charger, because there's no way I'm paying for a charger separately. Since the Flip only fast charges at 15 watts, it works out fine. But if I purchase another Samsung I won't have a charger capable of charging at the way faster speeds they're capable of.

So yes, I feel like I'm being played by greedy corporations that have sickening amounts of money, and I won't be going along with that program ;) If I get another Samsung it'll be a 1+ year old model (or Black Friday sale like my Flip) that will save me plenty, even when I have to pick up an Anker (NOT Samsung) fast charger for it :p

I agree... pick your battles. I'm always up for a good scrap when it comes to greedy corporations :D

I have more chargers than I have chargeable devices. Of course I do resent buying a flagship phone (Pixel 6 Pro) and having to buy another charger just to get advertised charging speeds. Grrr.
