Apple's injunction on the Nexus; UN hosting mobile patent talks.

Re: 'Apple lands preliminary ban against Galaxy Nexus.' (Updated)

Yup. They can now sue Google for Glass and they don't even have a product yet. It's Google's fault though. They should have patented the tech when they thought of it.

I'm not exactly sure which ones but I believe Google has been patenting the hell out of Google Glass in many aspects. I don't think Apple will have a leg to stand on.

And Google patent us very specific where apples is very broad as most of theirs seem to be.

ABCNews.com is reporting that when it returns next week, it returns with Jelly Bean--that's direct from Google, apparently.

You just watch. When Apple finally puts two speakers in an iPad they will claim to have a patent on stereo and sue everyone.

They won't last very long in the industry after that happens, apparently.

Re: Apple granted injunction against the Nexus; sued over Siri.

Okay so supposedly GNex will be back on sale with JB next week. This will allow it to become unbanned. Now does that mean they will have an official build of JB out for the VZW Gnex so that it can be sold? Or is the GSM the only version of the GNex that will be un banned?

The VZW version is currently unaffected by the injunction, so it can still be sold.

Ohh that's interesting did not know that. How did that work out?

Something to do with voice actions/search.... which Google has had much longer than Apple.

The patent in question was applied for before Google even existed.

Fact is Google continues to sit idly by and not fight back, when the time to play nice is over. Apple is not going to back down from this BS because they're clearly done "innovating".

First thing I'd love to see Google bring to the courts is Apple's notification pulldown kang. That alone ought to be enough to ban all iphone sales, if we really want to fight fire with fire, as I say its long past time Google did..

Google doesn't have the patent yet, and they're having a fair bit of trouble getting it. (They've been forced to narrow the scope of the patent several times) Even if they do get it, apples version is different enough that they would probably be able to avoid being found to infringe.

Apple: Original Killer of Products :D In all seriousness though, I agree with what's been said. Someone needs to step up and make the point that such lawsuits aren't okay to this degree. I have no ill will towards Apple after their lawsuit against the original 10.1.

I recognize that a patent in question here involves integrated/combined search. I think it's unfortunate that they have the patent, but that remains the most justifiable part of this lawsuit. However, the patent on slide-to-unlock is simply too vague (as are other patents, such as the patent on the MacBook Air's "clamshell" design).

Current academics are behind the current technology, current law is behind current academics, and current intellectual property rights (specifically patents) are behind current law. It's unfortunate.

The air lawsuit patents the airs exact shape. For a company to infringe they would have to literally copy the design.

Google Desktop was in Beta status in Oct 2004...and I take it you never heard of the LG Prada....that actually released at least 6 months before the orig iPhone. Released or shown...it won an award about 6 months before the iPhone launched.

Yea...they patented the hell outta the orig iPhone....with technology that MS was already using....Check the history on Microsofts Pixel Sense...formally Surface. Unless multi touch was part of that touch company Apple bought. They get so much credit for....multi touch capacitive displays.....yet the Prada had a capacitive touch display and is all but forgotten.

Lets keep it real about Apple...they do make good products...but it isnt as magical as some make it. Case in point....MS had a Surface tablet for display looooong before the iPhone and iPad. Using multi touch technology.

The patent for search was filed in 2000. Google didn't even exist.
