Apps missing / not appearing. How can I fix this?

Apps missing / not appearing ... help!

Hello interwebs, having a bit of a struggle with my samsung edge phone...
Generally a great phone and works well. Woke up a few days ago to find my theme had reset back to the original by itself, along with my wallpaper - and also a few of my apps (mainly games) dissappeared off the main screen.

the strangest thing is that i have the 'missing' apps available when i go to the sidebar (and select apps to add to sidebar) But when opening the 'apps' folder they aren't there.

Ive read a few forums and there dont seem to be many solutions - except a reset - which also doesnt seem to help

Any tips would be amaziiing !!

Hi, welcome to the forums! Maybe there's a problem with the Touchwizz launcher. Try clearing cache for launcher in settings - apps - all tab and then reboot your phone. You could also clear data but this will delete any personal changes you made in your home screens.
