Apps randomly closing

I want to test my theory of maybe it's a out of date issue by doing a factory reset since some have recommended it. but I'm afraid I might loose something I didn't even think of what I want to keep. Also I have an emulator but all actual game data is saved to my sd card. Will that be lost if I do this?

So I recently got a replacement for a different issue and low and behold apps started doing the exact same thing, and it doesn't stop at games this time.

Try removing the latest update to Android System WebView. Go into Settings > App Manager > All tab. Select Android System WebView, and hit the Uninstall updates button.

This was the cause of random app crashes for me after the latest update a few days ago. I've since turned of automatic updates in the Play Store so that this specific app doesn't get updated again. (at least until they update it again) You can also check the Play Store comments on this app, many others are affected by this.

Just did this tonight due to the same thing. I also went in to the Play Store and turned off the auto update on it as well. So far so good...

It may sound odd, but after last update my security changed, and now the 'OK' button needs to be held down, and then you can access your apps, gallery, settings, Gmail etc.
