Apps suddenly comes on when Galasy Samsung S3 isn't being used

I keep my phone around with me in a pocket and once in a while, an app would suddenly come on. I'd do nothing with it and it'd just come on. I was in a room hearing music, not sure where it was coming from. I finally figured out since I was hearing it no matter where I was going, it would be on my phone. So I checked and some music is playing on a game that I'm not even playing. App just comes on and music is playing. Also, when I'm ready to use the phone to go online or whatever, any random app comes on, not the app I want to use. I'll click on Internet and suddenly my Contacts shows up for whatever reason. I'm not sure what's going on and what to do about this.

Welcome to Android Central! Is it possible the screen is coming on inside your pocket, and then those apps are opening due to inadvertent touches? Also, do you have a screen protector on?
