Apps that don't work on the Nexus 7

Optimum app now working with my n7. Still can't believe max go still not compatible.

I noticed two games that don't work on the Nexus 7. I tried different versions of both games and they both seem to crash or hang.

Justice League and the new Superman game... anyone had any troubles with them? Nexus 7 3G on JB 4.2.1

I have recently bought a new Nexus 7 and I tried downloading certain apps including ITV player and it says that 'my device is not compatible with this app' How can this be when the device is brand new??

ITV player works fine if you can sideload it.

I had the optimum app installed on my first gen Nexus 7...however, the 2nd gen is not compatible...WTF gives?!?!

I can't get the Android Central app, HBO GO, or Netflix. Error code 497 or invalid page file!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to email Google and gave them my number to call me. All I ever got was a spammed/canned message saying they couldn't reach me. What a load of crap. I'm also shocked AC hasn't done an article about this yet.

I'm able to install the BestBuy app on my 2013 Nexus 7, but when I try to install it on my 2012 Nexus 7 it will not appear in the PlayStore. It's as if it's not compatible with that particular model.

A bit of an old post, but for anyone who's searching....

The three eReader apps I use are the Nook, Kindle and Aldiko. All three are available in the play store and are compatible with the Nexus 7 (2012), both ICS and JB. They are also compatible with my older VTab1008, which is a Honeycomb variant.

As to Amazon apps in general, I believe you might still need to side load the Amazon App Store but other than that the Amazon apps, e.g. Kindle reader, the MP3 player and Shopping app, are available in the Play Store.

And still isn't working. It's a bit ridiculous as it isn't a Android 4 thing (it works fine on my Galaxy S4), it's an Asus Nexus 7 thing. C'mon Starbucks ...

Jive does the same horse crap with their "Beta" Android app. It's simply a setting in their manifest file. Some apps you can sideload with the APK from your other mobile, then restore the settings & data with an app like Helium or Titanium.

As a matter of fact that worked wonders. Since it is just Starbucks, I just logged in on the Nexus 7 and it was good to go. However, the app apparently only allows one device to be logged into it at one time so it logs out my phone and vice versa. Oh well, it works!

Hey Phil,
I've heard talks from several different sources saying that the amazon kindle and b&n nook apps, as well as some other amazon offerings, were not available in the play store for the N7. Is this accurate? Thanks a ton!

I have both of those on my Nexus 7 2012 from Google Play.
