Apps that use my microphone won't work

I've never had any problems with hitting the home button twice and asking the phone to dial someone in my contacts, or other actions.
Also, Shazam has always worked.
Now when I try to dial by voice, or use Shazam my phone says the microphone is in use.
I've searched Google and rebooted, updated, etc.
Any ideas how to correct this?
