Apps to Dim Screen Brightness?

Do you guys know of any reputable apps that will help me dim the screen beyond the minimum?

My battery life is shorter than I would like-~4 hrs max just web browsing, with GPS turned off--and since the screen sucks up so much battery, I was hoping there was a way to dim it beyond the minimum (which is still very bright).

if 4 hrs is what you get then you have a problem... some app is seriously taking up your battery...

i have seen many saying they get 6 hrs of use with 30% battery left with standby time additional.

check the battery in android to see what is taking up your battery.

I think my battery's busted, since it can never fully charge either. debating whether or not to bother with CS, since I'm guessing the response will be 'well, there are ways to reduce battery usage'. I just bought it a few days ago and I don't know if I want something refurbished :(

I spent ~45 minutes on my commute with wifi/bluetooth/gps off, min. brightness, no downloaded apps running except for a magazine. spent another ~45 minutes playing an app that takes up 17% of the battery, and I'm down to 59% from 94% (what it can fully charge to). So.. 1.5 hours of minimum usage took up 2/5ths of the battery. kinda pissed, since the long battery life was one of the features I was drawn to.

//looking at the battery stats for a minute drained the battery by 2%... :|

Second vote for Screen Filter. You can leave the screen on AUTO and it adjusts the brightness down by a fixed percentage.

As far as the charging issue - you didn't post in your other thread that the battery life was also so poor, so I assumed it might be an indicator problem, but it sounds like you really do have a bum battery.

I'd say drop my advice about keeping it from the other thread and swap it out.

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll go ahead and do that. It's frustrating because I was hoping to use the tablet to take notes, but the battery can't even last half a day.

I'm having the same issues. 59% on Screen alone! My outlook is used more and it's only 7%... any word on this issues?
