Hi I just wanted to share how I went from ok battery on my s3 to awesome. :-) See the picture to know what apps to disable. I disabled those apps then ran my phone until it shut off and then charged it overnight off. When I got up and used it today the battery was much better both when it was asleep and with the screen on. Just thought I'd share what worked for me. How did you disable those apps?

Settings / application manager / all tab / and just hit disable, and sometime you need to also un install a update for that app. And some apps are completely uninstallable.

pictures are not showing up for me

I disabled a bunch of apps and the ones I couldnt I froze with my backup pro

battery life improved dramatically for me, I charge it late night and it sits unplugged all night with no use but even when I am using it I am up over 15-18 hours before I go into the yellow for the battery and at least 10-12 hours with heavier use. I would say I have light to med use right now with a screen on time of 1-2 hours, I also have the screen set to min unless I am outside in the sun then I set it to auto and that is a good portion of the use time also

Google+ has always been a big drainer. That's the very first thing I turn off, especially since I only know like 3 people that actually use it.

I've disabled quite a few apps, and my battery life has been excellent. They don't affect anything I do with the phone, so no lost capabilities for me. YMMV:

AllShare Controller
AllShare Play
Apps
Backup Assistant Plus
Color
Google+
Kies Air
S Suggest
Samsung Account
Sync Service
V CAST Tones
VZ Navigator
Yahoo Finance
Yahoo News

I forgot where I read this but remember seeing someone say not to disable sync service. Can't recall the reason though

Not true the day before I did this my battery would drain much more in standby.

Try the same test over 3G or 4G if available. Wifi tends to have much better idle power consumption when compared to the carrier data networks. Also what do you have syncing in the background, screen brightness settings or anything else that can impact power consumption?

Disabled all those apps except for S Voice, which I like. We'll see.
Either way, battery life seems to be much, much better than my Galaxy Nexus so far.

I've been on 4g all day today and it's been better in standby still, but I have strong 4g.all I have syncing is Gmail and my brightness is auto. Also that pic of battery life was mostly playing a 3d pottery making game too.
