i am a android noob..how do you set it so apps are directly saved to the sd card upon downloading...do certain app NEED to be saved on the phone memory cause id rather have everything on the sd card...the 2.18 phone memory is now down to 2.6 i really dont wanna go below 2

Dunno, but don't move stuff you use as widgets (Pandora, Evernote, Live Hold'em Pro) or you get screwed like I just did. It will no longer be able to be used as widgets and you will have to unistall, reinstall, and log back into those bastards.

You can't set the Market to download apps to the SD card. You can either move them manually via Menu - Settings - Applications or use an app to do it. I use Apps2SD and have been very happy with it. It will popup if you download an app that can be moved to the SD card, all you have to say is okay.

Not all apps can be moved, that's why I like the 3rd party approach.

apps moved to sd isnt such a great thing unless your phone has an obscenely small amount of onboard memory. Moving apps to your sd card usually breaks any ability to use their widgets. Also if it is a high performing app like a game or such there will be a reduction of speed in the application. For more most phones this is a useless feature.

I don't agree. I've had a Droid for 18 months and now the TB and the only time I've seen that happen is on the TB when an app was inside a folder.

Also, if you have a decent SD card you will not notice any slowdown of the app. unless, as you say, its a complicated game.
