I know I've seen many threads on this, but I've never really paid attention until now. If I go into settings, applications, manage apps.... What does move to sdcard mean? If I move all my apps to the sdcard, and factory reset, will they all be backed up in the card, and installed?

Sorry I'm on a business trip, and having a hard time looking up the direct answer.

Its just moving the app to your external SD Card to free up space from the phones internal memory. If you factory reset... they will not be saved to the SD Card. Your apps are backed up to the Google account you used to set up the phone. Once you factory reset and sign back into the phone your apps will be stored in the market under "my apps"... free apps will not be remembered.. you will have to re-download those.
If you're looking to back up your apps and there settings/data..you can use MyBackup Pro if you're unrooted or Titanium Backup if you are rooted.

Not to be contradictory for the sake of being contradictory, but I did a factory reset last night because I had never done one before on any of my phones, and I was bored. The Market remembered all my apps, even the free ones. This is unlike the experience I had with my HTC Desire on US Cellular when I upgraded to Froyo. Only the purchased ones were remembered and even those had to be manually reentered. This time around with the Thunderbolt the Market automatically pushed all my apps to the phone. The phone "remembered" my wallpaper, my screen brightness setting and my wireless settings. I was pretty impressed! All I really had to do was wait for the apps to reload, rearrange my home screens (those were not remembered),adjust my sync settings, and reprogram my alarms (almost forgot that one!) The whole process took all of an hour and that was mostly just waiting for the apps to load
