Is there any way from stopping the apps you download from appearing on the panels? After I download a new app a shortcut is always created on a panel.
I was also wondering if we are still able to pick what kind of connection we can pick when we connect it via usb to a computer, etc. Sometimes when I connect it I don't want it to automatically charge and when I try to transfer files to my mac it doesn't show up in finder.

Open Google Play Store, tap Menu/Settings, and uncheck "Auto-add widgets." It's actually a misnomer, because it's auto-adding shorcuts, not widgets. They just haven't bothered to change the wording forever.
