Apps wont run without google play services, which are not supported by your device....?

[Android Central Question]

Until yesterday my Samsung Galaxy Tab A(2016) tablet was working fine. Now when I open Google apps and some other apps, I get the following message

"........ wont run without Google play services, which are not supported by your device"

And the app then closes down.

In the settings, Google Play Services is shown as installed. However, Google Play Store is missing completely.

Any suggestions on how I can get the apps working again?

First, try installing Play store and let us know what happens

I found some "How to download the Google play store" instructions elsewhere on the site. Followed these, downloaded the play store, and now all the apps have started working again!
