Archos 101 G8 Tablet - Can I root to run 3.x and 4.x Android OS

Hi All!

I just bought an Archos 101 G8 Internet Tablet and am trying to decide if I will keep it or return. One main question I have is will I be able to root this and run new Android OS on it such as 3.x and 4.x. I am currently running 2.4.x, but would like to know I have the option to update the OS as newer ones become available.

I have not found anything online about this and am discouraged and thinking its not going to work

I have urukdroid on mine,is one of the the most popular, but won't be able to upgrade to latest os(not for a while at least till someone ports it,even then will prob be slow on the Archos).

Anyway you want XDA developers,as far as I know is by far the best site for Archos(or any other android)os customization.

openaos-cyanogenmod can be used if rooted:

Like I said the best stable is urukdroid

Get yourself a Gen9 if you want to keep up to date,and a dual core cpu is a must really if your gonna be keeping up to date with no lag.
