Are blacks to black on screen ?

Blacks on my phone are almost to black ... I don't mean the viewing angles or "inky " as the samsheep explain it , I more or less mean like I don't see a lot of detail in photos of something purely black ....like my sons coat , my sweater , etc etc .... Is that characteristic of the super LCD or do I have a bad display.

It may be a function of the dynamic range of the camera's image sensor (your critique sounded like it was leveled at pictures you're viewing). Is it just picture viewing that you notice it?

I notice it on pictures I have taken with my camera or other pictures that are sent to me , sometimes I notice it on netflix as well.
