Are new X's shipped with 2.2 ?

I have decided to go with the X. Can anyone confirm that if I ordered it would come with a fresh 2.2 install already loaded ? Thinking perhaps this would reduce some of the reported issues with the update on top of 2.1. I called Verizon and the customer service rep I spoke with could (not) answer the question.

Even the display models at my local VZW Store were still running 2.1. When i checked for the 2.2 update i got the "Your Device Is Up To Date" message. You would think they would want Froyo on there to help sell the thing.

Mine arrived at store Wed (the day 2.2 was out) with 2.1. The update was the first thing I did. I took one call with 2.1 but don't think that could mess anything up.

My significant problems seem to be with 2.2 and not upgrading. They are both with email and verified by Verizon and Motorola. One is a SMTP settings but with messaging and the other is with the ActiveSync client. The phone is very good as far as toy factor but the enterprise support is a junk show.

I received a new replacement phone today and thank goodness it was pre-installed with froyo 2.2 and so far i havent had a single problem with it. This is my 4th one....the first one kept rebooting, the second after the update started rebooting, the 3rd one after the update the phone part wouldnt work, now this 4th one so far is great, so we'll see.

I'm sure they'll clean out 2.1 inventory then start shipping 2.2 devices as they come in (the FIFO concept). I'm ordering mine on the 15th and hope to God it has 2.2 on it already. If it don't that'll be the first thing I do once I activate it then I'll login to my Gmail account and start setting things up since the majority of the problems with OTA 2.2 seem to be derived from the phone trying to restore previous settings after the upgrade.
