Are there any apps on Republic Mobile that have a better emoji capacity?

Question regarding Emoji's...

Hi, our daughter recently discontinued her Verizon iPhone plan in favor or android MotoG on Republic. So far, so good with the serivce and the device, but one problem is her emoji capability on Republic since their servers do not enable them to cross platforms or applications like other services do.

Has anyone found a way around this? Or - what apps would you recommend using that may work better for emojis to work cross platforms? Right now, when she sends one the other user gets '?????' in place of one of the icon's that she has used.

To me, it's more of a minor detail that I could care less about for $25/month, but a teenager will cancel her contract because of it!

Anyway, wondering what is a work around or a suggestion...

By the way, Republic has not place to resolve anytime soon...

Basically, republic only supports the basic UNICODE character set. Emoji are not supported.

Any "closed system" messaging applications (Hangouts, Skype, etc...) will work since the messages are sent over data. But sending standard emoji via SMS is not supported on Republic.
