Do you actually use it as a phone?

I had two out of two with big problems and a friend in NH is now on his third.

I have hearing issues and even with hearing aids my hearing sucks.....so I would love to find that there is a Photon somewhere that works right because I found the earpiece and rear speaker to be wonderful for my hearing issues.

Seriously...has anyone not had the phone freeze up and shut off and not had the silent call issues???

I have only had the silent call issues. Some things that I believe have stopped the problems until the MR comes out are... 1. stopped using WiFi 2. Set Network to Any CDMA 3. Turned OFF Pocket Protection.

since doing all that - No silent call issues. I have never had the phone do a random reboot

I have had zero problems with mine. Not one silent call issue. 2nd call comes in with no problem. No outgoing call hang. Bluetooth, as well as bluetooth auto answer works with no problems. No problem with waking phone up with power button. No freeze up, crashes, or spontaneous reboots. No problems with streaming youtube, pandora or slacker. I don't see the "screen door" effect with the Pentile screen.

It's buttery smooth and really fast.

My MoPho has been a great phone. Got it on drop day, 07/31 still original unit.....

Had 2 Evo 3Ds for 3 weeks. They were almost unusable as phones. The call quality was so bad that I could barely understand what the other party was saying. Also multiple lockups per day fixable only pulling out the battery. So I returned them and got two photons.
The two photons were rock solid for more than a week now. Call quality is great, signal is great, even the data on 3G seems faster. I have all radios on all time except 4G that I?m using on demand when downloading stuff. The only issue I had it was yesterday with my wife?s phone: the battery went completely empty, she plugged the charger and try to turn it on and she got some message like Cannot flash memory with low battery . I had to pull out the battery for the first time, charge it for 10 minutes and they turn it on again.
Personally I?m very happy with the photon.

No issues here either. Made a post titled possible call audio issue fix where I talked about how when I had my phone set to automatic in network settings I had silent call issues. When set to any cdma, no problems

i read something about it being a network issue. where if you didnt turn off your old phone you would run into an issue.

but so far its been solid for me. had 2 hiccups though. one was wifi was connected but would not pass traffic after a nap, toggled wifi and all has been well. second was this morning using the built in podcast player, I jumped in the car and hit play on the deck and the app kept starting and shutting down after i hit the power button. reboot fixed that.

I have had my MoPho since August 1. Great reception and call clarity.

I did have the following two issues the second day:
1) the browser and the contacts (lots and lots of contacts) hanging occasionally, then after they would finally respond, anything else would run real slow for a while. Reset and it would be fine for a while.
2) battery life from full charge was about 3 hours.

After running the tweaks on the sticky post about battery management and stopping or deleting a couple of the apps that were provided that I'll never use, I have not had those issues since. I think the first issue was a memory consumption issue by one of the apps, but, I did not take the time to find out which one.

I had the "cannot hear calls" issue once and my phone locked up and required battery removal once. I've had the phone since drop day and am coming from a Pre, so these issues don't really seem to be anything for me to get all worked up over... dunno...

Mines been great. Had the no sound issue when wife called twice, but after uninstalling GV, the problem went bye-bye and no issues since.

I've had no problems so far. I'm loving this phone! Way better than my evo 4g. The car dock works great and I can't wait to get my other docks and keyboard for the house.

Had my photon 6days now an i can say i havent had one problem. Havent been able to root it.... but other than that not a thing. I do make calls regulary, txt, web, navigation, hdmi an all works great. Btw bought the phone at best buy if it matters.

Ive had mine 7 days now without issues. Only thing is home screen doesnt scroll smoothly when scrolling from side to side, it is smooth though when in contacts, apps or dolphin browser etc.

I just came from a Tbolt, it was smoother and faster, but i like the battery life and UI more in the MoPho

I had had mine Two weeks tomorrow. Loving it so far no drop calls (unlike Evo 3D) I can hear the other party clearly. Would recommend this phone to anyone. FM radio even work inside my job unlike my old Evo. No drop calls yet.

Will putting Any CDMA on make me pay some substantial fee when my bill comes at the end of a month? Because that seemed to fix it.

I've had the "no sound" issue twice, and am thinking of trading it in for another copy. Otherwise no problems.
