Are they retrofitting Thunderbolts as we speak?

My guess is that the "spec" will actually be an app. Possibly Skype, Netflix, or a free tethering method. I think the Kernel/baseband tweaking they've been doing to improve battery has afforded them the time to also fix whatever was wrong with Skype.

That would be ssswwwwwweeeeett

I didnt read the whole therad, but here is my opinion.

If its a firmware update (which had been rumored) they can do that right out of the box before you buy the phone, if its a battery (which is the new rumor) they can do that right out of the box. least i would while the phone is activating to let the user know what im doing and to make him still feel sure about his purchase a bigger battery would kick ass though

No they haven't. They'd have to redesign everything.

I do not think they retrofitted the TB with a dual-core... but would it really require a complete redesign?

I think the dual-core snapdragons share the same socket as the single-core. If they would decide to use dual-core it would be a fairly easy swap. Eh?

I'm not sure if this is the same processor as day one. But went to HTC's website and the spec's of the Thunderbolt listed the Processor so I went to Qualcomms page and it says its a 1.4GHZ so has that changed? Or I'm a goof and mis-read the specs on Qualcomms website lol!

Just curious

I don't think it'll be duel core. However, is there not a small possibility that maybe all of the hoopla around duel core at CES caused VZW and HTC to change plans at some point between then and now and THAT is actually whats been causing the delays?

There is no POSSIBLE way for them to have changed the processor in two months. It has to work with radios and the ram and the software and just please do not even consider it.
