Are you buying the Galaxy Note7?

Better VR image quality could have leant me in favor. If the display was RGB + that would suggest potential visual improvement for VR, but same pentile pixel arrays mean same screen door effect. The Note 4 looks as good as the 5 and 6 models with VR. All have the screen door. Seems if the FOV is greater on the new Gear VR, that should mean even more pronounced screen door than the previous two models. Reason being more FOV should mean wider closer view.

For games more FOV should be good, but movies and video would have better image quality with less FOV.

Note 4 will remain my VR device and MXPE 64gb main phone. Note 7 seems nice, but not seeing $900 more benefit over what I have now, since both devices paid for.

I have decided to wait. Seeing the phone is over 800. I want to pay off my Note 4. I was going to just turn it in but it's in great shape and I owe 116.00. I will own it and can sell it . Think that's a better plan than originally planning to preorder. Yes I want it. But my Note 4 works well and owning it so I can sell it is financially better for my wallet. The 36.00 a month I can handle but still want to sell my Note 4. Hopefully will make enough to pay off my tablet! I can wait a bit. Use logic now. Now the gotta have it mindset

I may have the stupidest reason to go for N7 -- because #7 is my favorite number. :D When I got my N3, I resolved to grind my teeth, hold back and wait for four years until N7 to upgrade. When N6 was announced, I thought, oh well, will wait until 2017. (Notice another #7.) But now looks like Samsung has scuttled my perfect plan. I will wait until the Black Friday or Christmas, though, to see what early adopters had said.

7 is my favorite number too!

As I said before it looks like after the down payment it should bring the eip payments down to the same as I'm paying now. So I won't be paying more but the same. So its a win win for me.

Yes coming from a iPhone 6 Plus and I will be there early tomorrow to pre-order - preorder is done and I am sitting here staring at my new Gear S2 and I will mail back my iPhone after the new Note arrives.

I just got the s7 edge two weeks ago coming from an iPhone 6 plus after two years. I'm more than happy with the s7 edge but I would have got the note if I could just for the s pen. At the same time I love my phone and they are very similar so I guess I'm fine with what I have.

Of course, I post that I will not get it and then watch the hands- on review linked by blitz118.... Darn it.

I bought an S7edge as Sammie didn't launch the Note 5 in Europe and I had geek impatience so couldn't wait for the new Note. I'm a Note guy through and through but not spending equivalent of $950 for an Iris scanner (toy-won't work often enough and I have a Trusted Device (Gear Fit 2) so just swipe to unlock anyway), pen, smaller battery and USB C. I'll just end up giving the edge to my wife so all in that'll be $1800 in 6 months for 2 near identical phones. Boo! So wanted a reason to spaff some money on it but now it's unjustifiable :(

Yeah, same with me for the Note 5. I'd have to pay off over $500. I'll wait a few more months...even though I ordered a Note 7 case Lol.

Just placed my order: AT&T blue Note 7. Coming from a note 4. I'll do a $300 down payment which brings the monthly to $24 in 24 installments. Also, for the first time in my life, getting the insurance. Knock on wood, I've never lost or broken a phone, but I also go case-less and I think I've been lucky!

Nope. The Note7 was nerfed and robbed of the newer CPU and better camera it was entitled to, then there's the battery issue. I could maybe have excused one of these things, but the phone being a victim of all of the above is a clear deal killer for me. Sticking with the Note 3.

I will, i like that the size did not increase from the note5, which is a good size note in my opinion.

I have really enjoyed my s7 edge, but miss the s pen, and since i am getting all the features of the s7 edge, plus the s pen, i should really love it.

Hopefully battery life is much better than the note5, it shouldnt be much different than the s7 edge and after a 12 hour shift and hours after work i am still putting it on the charger with at least 40 percent battery.

I am ready to have it!!! I love the blue color but i will get back just because im tired of non black phones.

So, the Galaxy Note7 is now official, and all details can be found in the Android Central news blog.

After seeing what it officially has to offer, are you thinking of purchasing one?

Yes or no? And why? Eager to hear your thoughts.

I've been contemplating getting a Note7 or S7 Edge to replace my HTC One M8. It looks like I could get both for the same price as one another in a two year contract. Given that I could get them for the same price, get a free 256gb sd card with the Note, and that the Note shape (better edge curvature, larger screen, and symmetrical back shape), as well as apparently more streamlined/vanilla OS I'm leaning toward the Note. Given the revamped OS might the Note's smaller battery last as long as S7 Edge's larger battery if the Edge's OS isn't as efficient? I'd expect this sub forum to be slightly bias towards the Note over the S7 Edge, but anyone think of any reason I'd want the s7 edge over the note7?

I have Note 5 and i found not a single reason to buy Note 7.

Pretty disappointed with Note 7 launch and specs. Just adding iris scanner and other software twiks does not male it worth the upgrade. Was expecting snapdragon 821 or 823 and 6 gb of ram. But that Note 7 has nothing. Just software related features like spen functionality improvement and always on. Iris scanner is just a market gimmick and its just cool nor needed. Water resistant is also the same.
What do u guys say. I am disappointed. One plus is even better than this. What do u say? Is it really worth the upgrading and who is upgrading from note 5 to note 7. Do share your thoughts !
Cheerio

Re: I have Note 5 and i found not a single reason to buy Note 7.

Agreed. Moto Z force for me it is.

The note 5 was the first note I skipped and sadly it seems it'll remain that way...

Nope, Moto Z force is where it's at for me. Sad really after being such a faithful note user over the years they already lost me with the last iteration.

My line up was:
Note 1
Note 2
Note 2 4g
Note 3
Note 4 (stolen)
Note 4 again (great phone)

... Oh well.

Re: I have Note 5 and i found not a single reason to buy Note 7.

Don't see how water resistant is a gimmick. Most find it very useful. I fail to see why you are dissapointed with this yet one plus 3 is more impressive? How exactly?

If you are happy with your note 5 that's good but it is a good upgrade over the 4 and 5 more so when it comes with double the standard storage right off the bat and for me the edge features are very useful for me.

Re: I have Note 5 and i found not a single reason to buy Note 7.

Probably the most underwhelming note release ever. Even the articles seem to be quite uninteresting as there's hardly any new topic on offer.
Anyway, the N7 is a beautiful phone though, albeit too uninteresting for an almost $900 phone. If you're going to make a phone that expensive, the least you can do is make it exciting and interesting imo.
Enjoying my crazy Moto Z anyway, and I hope that those that gets the note7 enjoy theirs too.
