Are you getting a G6 or an S8?

My two pence worth is I agree that I'll be going with the G6, it has wireless charging, great camera aha a flat screen and will be cheaper than the S8 I believe. I have the Huawei P9 with HTC sense 6 (my favourite launcher) which I like but the curved screen edges are terrible as you cannot get a tempered glass protector that does the job. The G6 over here is going to be around £700 and I've heard the Samsung will be around £50-£100 more... 👎

G6 for me. Don't like curved screens. Never really saw the point of them. Also, the S8 looks awkwardly long. And that fingerprint scanner placement 😧

Why is ANY manufacturer making 32 GB phones in 2017 in the first place???

Because consumers are dumb. :)

Seriously... the iPhone 6S had a 16GB model, and sold a TON of them. People look at price first, then worry about the particulars second. And many aren't nuanced to recognize that 16GB was shambolic. So lets move to today... Yes, the base storage option for most of the upper tier phones should be 64GB, but this would also contribute to an increase in price (modest or not), which would cause people to howl in protest.

Yeah... same here... Granted, we don't know the concrete specs on the S8, but I'm not getting a good feeling about it. The G6 would appear to be a better choice standing back and looking, but then again, we don't have the S8 in hand so its hard to say. But LG is LG, and there's ALWAYS a gotcha with their phones.

My wife's JUMP counter resets on 3/31, and I'd like to get her into something new... but to be honest, I think I am going to keep my cards close and wait to see if T-Mobile can get ahold of the Pixel 2 in the fall. I had assumed I'd replace her S7 Edge with an S8, but that's a bit up in the air now.

This! I'm hedging my bets on the 2017 Pixel being on all major carrier's in the US this fall.

That would be great.

I'm eager to know how the Pixel 2017 is like. The current model is pretty darn good, though obviously has some flaws. The new one ought to fix many of those while strengthening the great stuff.

Why? I'm curious. No dig, i am generally curious.
Personal preference mostly. I think Samsung makes really good devices, but there are some nitpick things that have bothered me consistently in every Samsung I've had that I don't experience with LG . Not to say LG is perfect, I just prefer their faults over Samsung's 😉

I have no plans to upgrade from my V20. But if I had a choice, I'm sorta leaning towards the S8 due to better hardware and design; it looks beautiful! But... then again... I find myself using the dual cameras A LOT more often, so maybe the G6 (come on Samsung, where's the dual cameras??).

I'll take this moment to remind people of the 810. At least for North American consumers. We don't know what the 835 will yield.

Let's be honest, the 835 could be fantastic, but it could be the 810 all over again. My point is, we don't know.

Personally, I would wait for more user reviews after both phones have been released, and also checking them out in person. Just going by specs doesn't cut it for me.

If you're going to do anything.... Wait for the V30, but unless they do something earth shattering the V20 is a very capable phone.

So AC has an article and if I read correctly... the non-promo price is $672??

If the phone is in the $672-$699 range and the S8 is in the $850 range then the G6 is looking better to me than the S8.

I'm really liking the look of the G6 over the leaked S8 pics. The S8 is going to have to come out with some major surprise at the press release to make the extra price worth it... it's gonna have to be something awesome like S-pen support to excite me I think.

LG G6 pre-orders at Verizon start March 17 for $672 with three great promo deals | Android Central

The G6 will be priced at $672 on Verizon, according to an article posted on Android Central today. I really like that price and it may tempt me into getting the G6 over the S8.

G6 looks more tempting than s8 as of now... S8 with all the leaks is looking ugly... Let's wait and watch

I much prefer my V20 to either of them. I see no reason at all to go with G6 over V20. Amoled in Samsung attracts me but ruined by curved edges.

$672 and you get a free Google Home. Good deal if you ask me. That definitely makes it more appealing.
