Are you getting a G6 or an S8?

I'm going to cover you with SD cards while you sleep.

The s8 is tempting. But I'll take a wait and see approach
My main thing is battery life
But I need a fantastic camera at the same time.
Not in a rush right now so I'll give them both a chance to settle and see which phone has the better shelf life

I don't get why 32GB of onboard storage is a problem...that is what expand storage is for...

I'm torn. I have a perfectly good GS7 and I love Samsung pay, however I like the overall experience of the LG phones I've had better than the Sammy UI. I am afraid if I buy now I will miss a good sale/promo on the G6 after the S8 comes out. Plus, I have been a frequent switcher for 2 years and the next new phone I get will be it for at least 18 months. Soooo.... Just staying still for now.

Get a Gear S3 and you'll have Samsung Pay on your wrist with any Android phone.

I have 2 JoD lines on T-Mobile......so I'm going to get BOTH the G6 and S8.....

I'm leaning more against the S8... For the second time... First S7 now S7E, it's losing my wife's pictures. Between that, and the Note 7 debacle... LG is looking better by the day

I would prefer 64gb as base too but not a deal breaker... with microsd I point all pics and vids to be stored on microsd as well as store any music and docs and leave all apps internally.

I prefer that to some degree also because if the phone ever was damaged or died then I have everything in sd and just pull out the sd card.
micro sd eats battery and is not secure. I prefer internal memory so I like 64gb

I don't like SD cards either and I generally don't use them anymore. Only back in the olden days of 8-16gb storage. 32gb is way more than enough for me. And now I have 64gb.

The G6 intrigues me. I'm not really feeling it for the curved edges of the S8 screen. I like the size of the G6. Slightly smaller than the S7 Edge. If it comes in around $700, it may sway me vs the $870 S8.

If history dictates, the G6 will be about $600 in less than 6 months. The S8 will stay the same price until the S9 lol

The G6 is already in the $600 range... so could be quite true in a few months the G6 could be in the $400-500 range because the V20 is currently being sold in that range by someone. If you're willing to wait then that will make it one of the best deals of the year if the phone backs up the pre-release reviews.

S8 will wait until next week and go through all the initial reviews like the G6 just went through to see what kind of phone it will be. If it is $850/$950... that's priced for perfection and if it's not, people may want to wait and see what the iPhone 8 will be like or even the Note 8 before shelling out that type of money and samsung may be surprised sales not as high as they want.

They had a good year last year... but that's with basically a year where people werent as excited about the iPhone 7 and waiting on the 8. Samsung may be doing a lot of promotions themselves to get people to buy.

I can sell the Google Home for $100. That would bring the price down to $572 for me. Those that also get the 43 inch tv, they can sell that for $300, bringing their cost of the phone to $272.

Who's offering the TV? And when does the Google Home promotion end?

In considering S8 vs G6... I think I am leaning towards G6 and wait for the Note 8 at end of year.

I have an "in"... boss says I can use our company account and use one of our eligible lines to buy a phone at 2-year contract price as long as I pay for the phone myself.

I can get a G6 for $249. When the S8 comes out I expect contract price to be around $350-$450.

What is pushing me towards the G6... while checking the our AT&T corp site for pricing today, my coworker still has his Note THREE! next to him and reminding me how well it still runs and the pen features. I really wanted the pen features in the Note 7 but didnt have the chance to buy due to recall. But i think... get a solid phone with the G6 at bargain... and use the money saved for the Note 8 if specs are a hit.

So maybe I can get one of those promotions at the same time and it only costs me $249 ;)

Or though my corp account, I can get a S7 Edge for $199  So maybe G6 vs S7 Edge.

Verizon is giving away the tv if you open a new line or if you are a new customer. You will also get Google Home.

I'm undecided on my upgrade until both of them have been out and around the block for some reviews. Right now I have the 7edge which I really like, but I won't just jump on the 8 bandwagon until it has been run through its paces too. I'm not really loyal to any manufacturer. I'm using the 7edge, before that the LG g3, the HTC Droid DNA and the Motorola raz Max.

This is good to see. Someone who isn't just going with one company just because... You don't see this everyday. I am the same way.
