Really have a feeling I will go either Iphone 6+ and Note 4. I miss a good camera

the iphone 6+ and Note 4 will have a significantly better camera. I guess it depends what's more important to you - premium features or the nexus experience which is a premium feature in and of itself.

No I did not plan on upgrading once I heard the size. The Nexus 5 size seems perfect to me. It is still a phone, still fits in my pocket comfortably and feels good in hand. The phablet category is not for me. iPhone 6 Plus, Note and Nexus 6 are not really my style. Maybe one day who knows, but for me, a 5.2 inch screen is about as large as I want to go.

Well, 5.2 inch screen isn't the best way to put it. The iPhone 6 has a 4.7 inch screen and is 5.44 inches long, yet the Nexus 5 has a 4.95 screen and is 5.43 inches long. So I guess any sort of phone in your standard, no home button, Android phone with a 5.2 inch screen with small bezels is the max for me.

Wishing the Droid Turbo was the new Nexus spec wise. But I don't think Quad HD is worth it as of now, I need to see it. I have no problem with 720p if it means much improved battery life.

Does anyone have any comparison breakdowns of what battery life would look like for 720 vs 1080 vs Quad HD? I'd be interested in that.

Turbo Charging is huge, it's too bad I will miss out on that. But everything seems to be based on the Quad HD's ability to outshine 1080, including the new GPU, Adreno 420 (?) I believe. So far, from everything I'm reading, it's a wait and see to see if that truly trumps 1080p, and at what cost?

For me, the perfect phone to me is a Nexus 5 with 3,500 mAh and turbo charging for 350. I'm not really interested in anything yet as of now. Which me brings me to the price. 650! God damn. I loved being part of the bargain club with the Nexus, I'll be looking for the Moto G next year maybe. I don't know. Phones are all good now, I don't think latest and greatest is a requirement anymore, although it is nice to have.

Re: Now that it's announced, will you be buying?

If I buy this, and I probably will... I will only get it on the Play store. No way do I want to risk getting one from a carrier where there is a possibility of it being contaminated by carrier bloat among other things. I want to know that it is pure and the updates will come as advertised. Plus I won't worry if I want to switch carriers about what my previous carrier might have done to it to maybe make it not work with other carriers. Maybe a little too paranoid? Sure... But I would rather be safe than sorry. I don't want a Galaxy Nexus or Nexus 7 happening....

Re: Now that it's announced, will you be buying?

I can't believe, more voted for no.

If it was 5.2" or smaller, that would be different.

If it was $399 or so off contract, then the size wouldn't matter and people would be all over this.

Nexus fans have been spoiled with cheap prices, but not cheap phones. I'm a Nexus fan, and I think this phone looks like it will be worth every penny. I'll sell off whatever I can to afford it. I'll be ordering on Day 1. I can see the screen size being an issue for people more than the price. For all intents and purposes, this is THE Android phone in specs and build and everything in between. The price is justified in my opinion. Heck, the 64gb is still $150 less than the comparable 64gb iPhone 6 Plus, and $250 less than the 128gb version!

Re: Now that it's announced, will you be buying?

nope it is way too big for me. its a great phone though and we now have a premium nexus phone. hopefully the camera is much better than the one found on the moto x 2014 esp considering the fact that it has ois and a f 2.0 aperture

Re: Now that it's announced, will you be buying?

I'm in the it's too big camp. Had it been this size and $500 I might have been tempted. Also if it had been in the 5.5 range and been the price it is I might have been tempted as well. But the price and size together make it a no go. Maybe when they are selling used.

Looks like I'm still using the N4 another year. Too $$$ and too big for my needs.

Re: Now that it's announced, will you be buying?

probably a no. price and size are the factor. since my Nexus 5 will be getting lollipop, it should last me for a while.

I'll give the Nexus 6 a miss at that price. I think Google and Motorola **** the bed with this one. At that price, off contract, I would have expected better. I think Google are sucking up to the US carriers. This is not great value no matter how you slice it. The Nexus 5 needed an update. The perfect form factor. There are better smartphones that are cheaper than the Nexus 6 that are out right now. Nexus fans stuck with the 5 with it's imperfections because of the low price off contract. No. The Nexus 6 doesn't represent value globally. I didn't think I would say this about the new Nexus. I'm disappointed. Too big and too expensive. *Sigh*

Re: Now that it's announced, will you be buying?

While it looks like a great device, $650 (plus tax) is way over my budget. I might just get the Nexus 5 if the price goes down.

Re: Now that it's announced, will you be buying?

No, I might have regretted getting my one + until I saw the price tag.

For that price, I can get two one +s

No kidding. After some thought, it looks like I might just get a one+. It's kind of an upgraded nexus 5 when you think about it. And, the 16gb one+ is $299.

a 64 gb nexus 6 is $700 and a 64 gb one+ is 350. Google priced this a bit too high for my taste on this one.

It's not that I don't like the nexus 6, it has some nice features, bigger battery, better camera, better screen, water resistence and some fancy things here and there, but I couldn't justify paying for what I can get 2 one+s.

I mean I had the same justification when I bought a nexus 5 compared to a gs5, g3, etc. etc.
