Are you going to get the S8?

As one who owned two Note 7s, had them recalled, and wound up with an S7 Edge, I had planned to get the new S8 Edge (or whatever the larger S8 is called). However, I am concerned about some of the rumors: fingerprint scanner moved to the rear, only 4GB of RAM, and a price of $960 US. I'll have to wait and see what's actually released and if Samsung gives a price break to those of us who had to return our Note 7s.

I'm still debating between the S8 or the Pixel XL. I will end up getting the larger of the two S8's. I have to wait and see what the S8 ends up looking like for sure and final specs. Also will depend on if the Pixel XL 128gb is still backordered when I can upgrade in may.

Went back to my iPhone 6S Plus after the whole Note 7 recall business. I'm too impatient to wait for the Note 8 so I may just jump on the S8 Plus or whatever it'll be called.

Yep. Just saw an article earlier today supporting the rumors that the S8 edge will resemble the Note7 over the S7E. They're calling it a soft edge display. The edge of the Note7 was a lot better than the S7E.

Yes i will, going to pre-order as soon as i can. I have the money for this thing (since returning my note 7) i am so tired of the old 5s i am using.

My only question is who i will pre-order from Verizon or Samsung.

I'm Jonesing for big boy stereo speakers. Looks like the best they can do will be like the Iphone 7 with the top speaker being a loud speaker and an earpiece speaker and the other speaker is the bottom firing one. I had the Iphone 7 and the earpiece speaker was nice and loud.

Already had one disappointment from the fingerprint sensor (no on-screen sensor). Not else what else might differ from rumours.

Originally I was going to wait until the S9 since I have gotten the odd numbered Galaxies due to that is when my upgrades happen. This year though, am considering switching to Verizon, so if that happens, will likely get the S8.

For me, no RBG led notification light would be a deal breaker. Gave it up for a Moto Z Force Droid, and boy am i sorry. 5.8" would be ok, but i want that light. Anybody know if it's part of the S8?

I will get the S8 Plus. the standard size Galaxy is too small for me. Even the S7 Edge is a bit too small for my liking even though I use a thick case such as Otterbox or Supcase always. I like big screens especially when texting and emailing. Now if this phone is over $900 I might just wait for the iPhone 8 Plus or Note 8. No way I'm shelling out more cash than for the Note 7 and have no Spen built in it. Might even look at the g6 too then.

More then likely though playing with an LG V20 today it gives me a fall back.

After getting shafted by the Note 7 I am still a little leery of things especially with their slow as molasses release of nougat. Really need to see the official spec released and go from there I guess.

Hope it will have some of the features of the note 7 (i am sure it will) secure folder, retina scanner and Spen support would be nice (but not a deal breaker). I moved over to Android for the Note 7 so the lack of the led notification light would not bother me (never had a chance to depend on it).

Decided I didn't want to wait. Picked up an S7 edge last week, got the free 256GB memory card through a promotion and the Gear S2 was marked down for closeout. 96 bucks, couldn't pass it up. It'll hold me over, so I'll skip the S8 now and see what the next Note looks like.

Going to wait and see what new features it has and if the Snapdragon 835 is up to its hype. 5 minutes of charging equals 5 hours of battery? Let's see. I might have to deal with the curved screen eventhough I think it's annoying.

Honestly, I don't think it pays to jump to the S8 if you already have a high end phone regardless of brand. Ask yourself...What does the S8 do that you don't already have?

I still have payments to make on the V20, however I won't buy Samsung. I'm in the crowd that wants a HiRes DAC a removable battery, and I love the second screen so I'll stick with what I have until I see what a V30 brings to the table.
