Are you gonna buy a pixel or the 3 XL

WoW ...

Went to the Pixel Store and added the Pixel charging stand.

Order said it will not be here till November.

As of right now, no. Still don’t know how I feel about the new 3XL. Might just wait until they hit BB/VZW to get a first hand look. Really no benefit to preordering as google isn’t given out any freebies. Plus if there are any “Issues” they can be worked out. A free wireless charger for preorders would have been nice.

I got a free pixel stand, but ordered through VZW.

Yep.

But the Note 9 also has more RAM and more storage options for the same price as the most expensive Pixel option.

If I felt the way you did I wouldn't buy it but I see that you did anyway. Just enjoy your phone....life's too short to worry about the little things.

Won't be buying the 3XL. The pixel 3 is priced at €899 here in Ireland. the XL is bound to be €1000!

I hope all you guy's enjoy the new pix 3 , I'm staying put for now on my pix 2xl . I'm looking forward to the reviews and what you guy's think about it .

If you could get to the North you could save yourself over €50 by buying the Pixel 3 at the cheaper UK price from Carphone Warehouse.

I said I wasn't gonna buy before a hands on but visiting this forum constantly will probably make me cave. Especially since I just got that $50.00 Google store pre order email

Just as I suspected. Google just threw some fresh AI on the same sensor from last year. I think they could've at least went with a wider aperture to help physically with low light while harnessing their AI algorithms on top of that but they seem content to bypass hardware advancements.

Also I'm surprised they missed out on the opportunity to talk battery life while on stage. Guess we gotta wait for the reviews.

I don't see anything to justify the price hike either. No 4k60fps. The sensor was not mentioned as being larger. Still f/1.8 and 12.2mp. Same 4gb of RAM. No secondary rear camera. I don't know about this one.

I don't know if this will make a difference to you or not, but the included earbuds aren't plain old wired buds. They're essentially a wired version of last year's Pixel Buds, with the Assistant and translation functionality.

There's also a better screen (according to people at the event), better security and camera (some of which may come to the older models, and some that won't). In reality, I'd say there are more changes from the Pixel 2 to 3 than there was from the Pixel 1 to 2.

But I'm not saying everyone needs to own one either. Just pointing out that it's not like the changes are all software. But while it would've been great if they could've kept the price the same, I can understand them increasing it.

Yeah I know. I have mixed feelings about it. I think it'd be the perfect business phone with a standout camera. I could get with the no frills vibe the Pixels seems to be going for. The size is just where I want it. Just wish Google threw in a little more. If the battery life is better than the previous generation then that would seal the deal for me. No other SD845 powered phone has outlasted it's predecessor except the Note 9 but that's only because of the huge battery Samsung packed in. But they're still charging more for the Pixel 3 than the Galaxy SO which offers more and a QHD SuperAmoled screen, headphone jack and microSD expansion. That's a lot to think about.

No doubt. The promotion is actually buy one get one free and a pixel stand for EACH device. But I didn't need to buy two damn phones ??????

When I was trying to find out about the Pixel Stand offer, they were pushing HARD to get me to go with the BOGO deal. She said I could upgrade 2 existing lines, and then move one back to it's original phone and then sell the 2nd phone for a profit. She went on to say that I'd have a 2nd monthly device fee for the 2nd phone, but I'd also get an accompanying credit for it.

The only problem is the offer requires a new line to be added for the 2nd phone. If I had done what she suggested, I would've lost my monthly credits on the 2nd phone because I didn't follow the terms of the offer (it would've had to have been active for the full 24 months to get the full credits). So even if I sold the 2nd phone (probably for a bit under new pricing) I would've had to pay Verizon back the full amount.

I no longer have anything to do with any offer Verizon does that involves monthly bill credits because it always comes back to bite me.

Yeah, sounds like she either didn't understand fully how their own promotions and phone payments work, or she was trying to bamboozle you.

I've also sworn off trade ins with them. I traded in a Moto Z when I bought my 2XL last year, hadn't seen a dime of credit even to this day.

So when I called today I said, I want to order the 3XL but y'all need to either give me my $300 credit now, or send me a Moto Z (I know the second option isn't possible). So they just gave me a bill credit for $300.

I had pre-ordered the pixel 3 and immediately felt buyer's remorse...I cancelled. I had used the pixel 2 for a month and coming from an iPhone X, the battery life was horrendous. I couldn't even make it half the day without running for a charger. Went to a concert one night and took a bunch of videos which ate the battery. I see the pixel 3 has increased the battery a little over 200mah...but will that be enough? Probably not. Battery life is the most important to me so I had to go with my gut on this one.

I presently have a S8+
It has a 35000 ah battery in it.
I ordered the Pixel 3 XL.
It has like a 3430ah battery.
So I think with the battery saving feature of the Pixel I will be good.
