Are you happy with your Droid?

Happy or not?

Making the switch from the BB Tour I was worried about getting used to typing on the Droid. However, after a week I'm very happy with the keyboard and the phone. The hardware and software are both great. This is by far the best phone I have ever used!

am I happy with the device/os?... YES, even though I'm on Droid #4.

#1 = worked great, but had some funny "hissing" noise in speakers (internal interference?? as it did this with music and phone calls)...

#2 = worked great, but the battery cover was WAY too loose...

#3 = worked great for the first three hours until the the touch screen went crazy and the back button refused to work. I tried battery pulls and factory resets, but the hardware was simply broke (didn't drop it or anything)...

#4 = so far so good, but I'm affraid to "move in" and set it up as I like because of all the other issues I've had, lol.

...but I'm still very happy with phone and OS. I miss having "hard buttons" for making phone calls like "end" and "send", but that's just a personal issue and in no way a hit on the phone.

One of the best smartphones I've owned. I would have to agree with the "fun" factor. I've had the phone for about two weeks now and still find myself turning it on to play with around and see what else it has been hiding on me. My wife has been patient so far but I can tell the jealousy is setting in, lol. I think the "shine" had worn off my S1 after about a week and I had pretty much run the gamot on what it had under the hood. The droid just keeps on giving. Great job by Google, Motorola and VZW.

Storm 1 > Droid. Enough said lol. I too kinda miss the physical send/end buttons but not a big deal at all. I also especially like the fact that the pay for apps are considerably less expensive than those on the BB and alot of the great ones are free. My fiance got hers before I got mine and it's her first smart phone. She is VERY well pleased with it's ease of use and now I get to tease her about putting the phone down and giving me attention as she used to do when I had the Storm lol!

I am vey happy with my Droid. I find new capability every day. It is everything that I had hoped it would be.

another happy camper here. I loved my Treo 755P, but the Droid is so advanced. I hope Splash Data will get their programs on the system, I miss that app. Otherwise, 2 weeks in and no major issues. Go DROID!

I'm happy even though it has a lot of things that should be on the phone that were on my Blackberry. All the extras make up for it though.

Still on the honeymoon, but hoping for some minor nags to be fixed or updated, like being able to use G Apps with Listen, My Tracks, etc. I am surrounded by iPhones at work, and it is nice to be thought of as a free thinker for a change LOL.

Yesterday a friend and I were driving an hour away to a sporting goods store to look at a shotgun. He asked me when I got in the car if I knew the way, to which I replied that we could use my phone. He says not to bother because his iPhone will get us there. It's in a doc and he starts typing. I wait about 30 seconds of him typing, then pull out the Droid and verbally ask it to navigate to the desired store in the desired city. It responds with the right store as the first lnk, and I press the Navigate button. My fried is still typing when my Droid begins telling us where to drive.

I put no, I do like the device however I personally think the Keyboard is pointless. And knowing the HTC passion is coming out I will be returning the moto droid back. Functionality wise I would say the moto droid is pretty amazing but it is very clunky and sense I dont care too much about the keyboard i would much rather have a phone without physical keyboard.

Till now the droid has been awesome the keyboard takes getting used to but everything else about the phone is absolutely amazing.

With 1.19% of the forum members saying no, and that 1.19% being him alone - that's punishment on it's own. ;)

So this phone is a success. First time I see this kind of response. Means we all made a great choice :D

No more complaining. What do you like Most about droid??

Alright so there are a TON of posts about how bad this or that is and thats all good. Its nice to get help on things, but there are posts for any problem out there. I want to hear what you guys like MOST about your droid.

For me it has to be the ease of use. Installing apps is SO fast and if i dont like them i can just delete them! no restarts?! this is amazing! Apps are easy to use and setting up the phone took maybe 5 minutes and all my contacts are there, even from facebook!?!?

I love this phone. I have my issues with it too. But all the things that this phone can do easily outweights the bad.

So what do you guys like? How is the droid better then your previous phone??

Better (Best) screen resolution
Great (and cheap) apps
No random reboots
No need for battery pulls
Memory management
Ease of use
THE BROWSER! lol
Customisability (if that's a word lol)
The physical keyboard as an option
Wifi
Dependability
And the list goes on lol. But those have to be my favorite.....especially coming from the Storm 1

Pointless or not, you don't have to use it. I do all the time. It's nice that a phone out there is marketed towards EVERYONE, instead of "take it or leave it". The keyboard has a learning curve just like any phone, but just because it's not the best smartphone keyboard ever, doesn't make it pointless. I love it, especially for fine editing.

3 keyboards to choose from makes sense.

For me I love just about everything. I use it for my work and wrangling 1200 customer files via gmail, gcalendar, and geverything else, just makes it a winner for me. I really like the way it keeps reminding me to do things, that is a big help since I have CRS disease.
