I put a screen protector on my Z Flip from Amazon (the kind that has the tabs that fold over each other during installation) to put an end to all the fingerprint smudges and micro scratches I was getting on the plastic screen...problem solved, the screen protector sticks to the middle crease beautifully and my Z Flip screen is now GORGEOUS with a glass like look!!

I have a normal phone for every day use, but I am able to indulge myself as an early adopter with new technology, have looked at the Samsung Galaxy z flip both versions are available,. as 5G will not be available in my area for probably two years,
it appears only 5G and slightly faster processor is the only main difference and higher price,
So awaiting the Motorola flip 5G with major redesign and a lower price compared to the first one,, plus it's unlocked and has a sim card a serious omission in first version as E Sims are not available in my region from the network available, so a choice between Motorola or Samsung ?

I would lean more towards the Motorola than the Samsung. I like the idea of having a small screen on the front with some usable space.
The tiny little screen on the Samsung flip is pretty much worthless for almost anything. That and I like the way the Motorola closes and how it looks when it’s shut more than the Samsung. If I had money to burn I’d probably get the Motorola.

I just bought the Galaxy Flip Z 5 G on Black Friday. I have the Note 8 which I still love as well, but I LOVE this flip phone. It is absolutely gorgeous and has some quirky little features like the viewing window on the outside of the folded case to see notifications, time and charge level, can take selfies with the window, can answer the phone through the window without opening the case and talk on speaker phone. I don't see the line in the screen at all when open. It fits so nicely in my pocket and is exactly what suits me for walking the dogs. I have hated having to find a jacket with deep pockets lest my Note 8 fall out. This phone fits in all pockets. Photos are great. One speaker sound is great and I think better than my Note 8. It is so unique and I can't keep my hands off of it. It reminds me of my great love of my Blackberry Classic back in the day. lol I think it is just great.

Def waiitng for the 3rd version with a larger outer screen.
And better specs as well. Perhaps we'll get some love and have an under display camera.Bigger battery. Higher refresh rate and lpto.etc.

I am waiting for the 3rd version as well. I have a question though. I use my current phone to self scan items in the grocery store. Could this be done using the outside window on the Z Flip? Or would I have to open the phone to scan each and every price?

No you couldn't use the outside window to scan. It has a very limited range of gimmicks. lol i.e. answering the phone, seeing a wee bit of a text message, taking selfies, seeing time and charge remaining on phone, and starting and stopping music. Still absolutely loving my phone. It is so nice not to have a big phone that won't fit into a small purse or pockets. I find the charge is very long lasting.

The flip2or 3 will have a larger outside screen,better hinge,IP rating and spend support and better battery, I want this to be my upgrade from the N20Ultra.

It uses the full screen. If you're using it in flex mode then it will just use the top screen.

They say up to 80 percent or something like that
