Are you prevented from taking screenshot of bank app?

Then you and a few people here honestly don't understand what Android stands for if you are basing it on that. lol.

People blaming "Android" because a developer has the feature to disable screenshot in their own app... the developer OWNS the app, not Google. Google didn't force them to enable the SECURE switch. OMG, how dare Android give developers the right to add in the switch when they want.

Even though I am not a fan of banks that do it in their app, they have their reasons. If you don't like it, give feedback to the bank, not Android. Or take your business elsewhere if you don't like it.

You know there can be a reason they do it that goes beyond just keeping the user from taking screenshots and worried they are irresponsible of managing their pics in their albums... one reason could be that disabling the feature... is also tied to disabling screen recording... and they are disabling the feature to prevent other apps, that you've given access to screen and camera features, that are malicious in secretly recording your screen and sending it to hackers. Just a thought.

Do you know that Google has also disabled screenshot and recording when using their browser in Incognito mode?? How dare they take away my freedom to take a screenshot in Incognito... I use it to view porn sites without leaving a footprint but I should be able to take a screenshot of the hotties I view if I want!! Simple solution... download Firefox and screenshot in their Incognito all you want. (I don't really use Incognito for porn. I was just trying to be funny) :p

I'm just having fun but really... it's not "Androids" fault... it's the bank and their developers. They own the app. Lay blame where it's due.

Android allows devs to disable screenshots. And I don't believe they should, it goes against what Android stands for in my opinion.

Ok... so with my last post out of the way... here is a solution that should work for most...

Open your Internet Browse of choice... mine happens to be Samsungs browser.
Go to your bank of choice... mine happens to be chase.com
Log in. Save your username/and password when prompted.
Do your business through the mobile view of the browser.
Take all the screenshots you want.
When done, close browser.

And if you want to give it that app-like feel for future, create a shortcut icon to that browser page
and put it on your homescreen or whatever folder you have your bank app under.

I can't say it'll work with all sites but I don't think banks can use the SECURE switch when using browser. I just tried it with my Chase account in browser and able to screenshot like crazy.

Remember, if you use Chrome and try this in Incognito mode, it won't work just because Chrome disables screenshots in Incognito.

:D

That doesn't work either. I just tried it on my Note 9. I was able to take a screenshot of my bank apps account summary screen on my iPhone.

Hi all,

I just Chase mobile app on my note 8. I came from iPhone 7 plus / iOS and in iOS, I think I was not prevented from taking a screenshot of the Chase app. Anyone have this issue? It just says can't take a screenshot due to security policy. Thanks. Currently really loving the note 8.
Got the Note 8 also, from a Note 5. Really like it. Same problem with my Wells Fargo app. Screenshots not allowed.
Has to be a bank thing!
