Are you still happy with the g4?

My third lg phone... N4 to G3 to G4.

What are people calling lag? My phones seem smooth but are my standards lower?. I don't play games maybe these issues show up in that situation?

Their talking about the overall OS experience. Consistent lag throughout all interaction's and navigation's. Bloatware bogs down the ram, if I'm not mistaken. Shows up everywhere. You've gotta disable that stuff.

Put your mind at ease. You will feel that way with just about every phone that came out this year as the perfect phone has yet to come to existence. I will say this about the G4, imho, it is the most well rounded per specs, per value, and per features, so far this year. Whatever shortcomings with the battery I continually outlast every phone out there when I'm out and about. The camera both day and night, the black leather from Verizon, and the display, have all impressed when compared with others. It is uniquely different in a good way, but like was said earlier no phone is perfect.

My LG G4 is truly the best device I've owned until now. Battery has been superb and beats out my Nexus 7 tablet. Use the Debloater app to really get the device to fly and also prevent updates for those who want to wait it out for bootloader unlock down the line hopefully. Root is optional but I also did this as well.

I have the G4 for a couple of months on Verizon and I'm really happy with it. Battery life is pretty good. I lose 30-50% of my battery in a given day. I don't watch movies or stream much content outside of a youtube video or two. My wife and daughter have the S-6's and seem pleased with their phones as well. Head to head the G4 is as good or better than the S6's in battery life. The auto camera mode on the S-6 takes slightly better pictures than my Lg 4. Manual mode is where my Lg jumps ahead...If you don't like messing with settings I would give the edge to the S6. Neither of us have done much in the way of video but they both seem to be well above average for a phone camera.

I'm kinda worried. The G4 looks like the best device for me, but having an entire thread loaded with fixes to problems concerns me. I've never had a phone that required software fixes. I hate to think that I need to purchase a phone nearly a year old to get the experience I am after (Nexus 6 cause I'm on Verizon).

Sorry your G4 crapped out on you. Although, I've really gotta say I think you got a dud. Mine runs quite smooth.

Mine is much better than my G3!! I have the H815 though. Feel sorry for you carrier users having to disable stuff. I don't have much to disable.

Yeah, I had to do some work on my H811 to get it where it's at. Smooth now though. I will say if my next device isn't a Nexus I'm going with the international version of my next phone.

It is awful. Had it since launch. Finally gave up. I just downgraded to my old G3 and am so happy. The G4 is an embarrassment of a flagship.

- Laggy always
- Unresponsive sometimes
- Overheats
- Instant camera never works
- Melt down temps when doing nothing
- Battery life is terrible
- Root and Nova did not help but made better

What else is there? Terrible. I love my G3. I'll wait for software update and see how it goes but wow.

Curious. Which carrier was your lg g4?

Hi there. This is my first android device.

I've been an iPhone guy since ever. But I'm pretty impressed by this device. There is a tad difference in the dependability as I expected, coming from an iOS device but I think I've waited long enough to the point where the differences in performance between Apple and Android is now negligible.

I have noticed that the touch-to-unlock has gotten less accurate after a particular update. I hope i can update this device to Android M and get rid of the issue. But it only acts up (40% of the time which is still unacceptable) when the screen is completely off. when you double tap (which also gives problems might I add) to turn on the screen, the unlock code is almost 100% accurate.

Bought the G4 mostly for its camera.

Battery life, my old S4 was a bit better. But no big deal. As soon as I uninstalled and disabled the apps I don't need, it improved.

LG's UX is a welcome change after using touchwiz for 2 years.

And one more thing, you just have to get around the fact that the G4 is a thick phone compared to its rivals due to its design. Doesn't bother me at all.

I find that the thickness and curvature of the back makes it much more comfortable to hold.

My G4 experience has also opened up my eyes to it all. I'm not dealing with carrier tampered devices anymore!

I'm content with it. Just received my replacement G4 so we'll see if it has similar issues (or different) in the coming months.

I do dislike that Verizon took away some key features of the phone though, so like GrooveRite said, it may be worth going with an international version next time 'round.

I still love my G4! Sure once in awhile the 2x tap to wake doesn't work but , wow that camera and screen!

First:
I loved the LG G4 International Version when I first got it. It ran beautifully, and worked perfectly, however, it wouldn't work on Verizon's network. So, I gave it to my brother-in-law who's on AT&T, and purchased a Verizon version of the LG G4. Now when I bought the Verizon version of the G3 last year, it took 3 updates to finally fix all of the problems, so I expected there to be issues with the G4...

So, now that I got that out of the way, my answer to your question is a resounding No! In fact I almost, dare I say, hated the VZW version of the LG G4. I tried two of the VZW G4s and didn't enjoy either of them. So, sadly, I have moved on as of Monday to the Edge +.

So sad that a carrier can screw a phone up as badly as VZW did with the G4. All the more reason that all carriers should go to a single standard so that we could all purchase an "international" version and get the phone with software on it unaltered from the manufacturer.

I'm on Sprint and luckily they haven't seemed to screw the G4 up yet...

It really is sad! My brother and his family are on VZW and only my brother has an Android and its been a terrible experience for him! Hes always calling me about this and that and when I look online, it always has something to do with an update from VZW. Its so bad that he is finally going back to iphone. Is there any VZW bloat on an iphone???

Yes, but not quite as much. Apple is pretty good at limiting them.

Though, they also limit VZW from doing voice and data at the same time (hardware I believe).
