Are you still happy with your G5?

Sorry to hear that. The Qualcomm radio/modem in my device seems to work fine. Reception has been good. It could be great but I live in a crappy party of PA. When I was in New York my signal was EXCELLENT.

I bought it over 2 years ago (to be exact 26 months ago), I'm pretty happy with it, it never had problems with GPS or display burn-in and I can easily touch 26/28 hours of battery with almost 3 hours SOT, lots of calls.
The only thing that is "annoying" to me is the W-iFi reception that is weaker than other phones which I compared it.
In the same room where it shows just 2 Mbit as speed, my daughter's P9 lite shows 24 Mbit, the same with my wife's Mate 10 Lite.
I don't know if it's an hardware issue but it started since one of the first update after Nougat.
As for the storage I would have preferred a 64 GB version since it can record video in 4K.
Other than that I'm satisfied, good cameras, beautiful display even under direct sun, very good audio (through headphones).
Regards,

Roberto

I picked up an unlocked used LG G5 from eBay about a week ago. I bought a slim grippy case for it and two 3500mAh batteries with charging cradle. It's running Android Oreo and it's been fine. Battery life is good. Much better with the larger batteries, the OEM 2800 powerpack is criminal...the screen has been crisp and fairly accurate color wise. It could be a little brighter outside but it's manageable. The camera has been great, taking clean crisp photos and the wide angle lense is great. The GPS on the phone works it just seems sluggish. Overall the device is working very well. It is running pretty smoothly with not much lag at all, just the occasional app crash which was happening on my Essential Phone which was running Android Pie and has a much more powerful chipset. The fact that I am able to rock the G5 as my daily driver for about $90 bucks with battery life for literal days is quite the coup for me

Where did you pick up the 3500mAh batteries from if you don't mind me asking?
Mine is been working great for close to 2 years now. It is in brand new condition on the outside since it's always been in a Otterbox Defender case with screen protection.
But the batteries are starting to loose charge faster and the primary camera lost focus.
The only thing I never liked about this phone was its ability to autodim the screen, it is very bad!

I'm quite sure everyone knows the the autodim feature can be shut off. You can also train it.
However, I've had a G5 since may 2016 and was not happy with the screen brightness outside until I realized that I had to click the autodim on for it to kick into full brightness in the sun. After that I was able to see the screen in the sun no problem.
Try it and see if it improves.
