Are you still happy with your Gear S?

Love my gear S too,,the watch itself is beautifull with ergonomic design,,but there's many missing if we talk about software,,,it's very limited.

At least we should be able to take a note and save it on the watch,,,,and Access to gear apps without being connected to the watch,,sometimes i wanna navigate on gear apps store on my phone, but each time i sadly remember that the phone must be connected to the watch.
Really they could not make it as limited as this.

So I've gone back to wearing my "non smart" watch, the one that doesn't need to connect to a charger every night because it charges from sunlight every time I go out. It also tells me the outside temp and has a barometer and altimeter. It's kind of the smart watch that came before the current smart watches.

I just wear it and it always shows the time and is always charged and always connects to the time server every day to stay accurate. I've missed the simplicity of it.

Not getting rid of the Gear S either, just taking a break from it.

Maybe it's just me but forum discussions about Android Wear watches usually focus on the physical part or if about apps it's clock faces only. With my S I found a clock that works and when I go to the limited Samsung app store it's not about clocks, I'm looking for a new productivity app or game and I often find something to try out. Out of the 60+ apps I've tried only about 10% have been clocks.
The more I use it the more I like it still but not because of all the watch faces.

I think the trick is finding the right combination of situation, hardware, and app to find that "Aha" moment that makes you really happy with your choices. And that perfectly satisfied situation is going to be different for everybody. Just to give a couple examples from my life: At home I run around in shorts, T-shirt, and flipflops in the house and out in the yard so carrying a phone around was annoying. Now the Gear S is always on my wrist, so comfortable and convenient it's the perfect fit for my needs. An annoyance I used to have was when trying to document repairs with my phone camera at odd angles where I couldn't see the screen. Add the Gear S and the Phone Camera Remote app and problem solved.

I love mine even tho I have it conected to my OPO it still works great minus the TW stuff but I can live without a couple things

I love my Gear S. I have worn it every single day since I received it. Does everything I want/need it to do and IMO is the best looking watch out. The curved display is just beautiful to look at.

My Gear S decided to lock up on me. It says the "Screen Reader" is on, I never turned it on. I can't scroll the screen to get to the factory reset. I have insurance to replace it, but the dectuctable is $100.00. I'm not sure it's worth it. I like the watch but I'm not that impressed with it or the apps for it. I have 60 days to decide. Is there any other way to do a hard reset? Thanks for any advice.

Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds or more.

Beast Mode 4

Thanks, I've done that a few times. The watch rebooted, so I decided to let off the button while it rebooted. Then, a page came up and there was a short list of things to choose. One of them was "recovery", I tried that too. It didn't work.

Defenitely so, use it pretty much every day. With each day using it more then the day before. Like most users here, main use is for e-mail, notifications, phone. I have it connected via BT always. It is so much easier to glance at my wrist to find if the e-mail is a priority response or if it can wait. Really like using the Wrist list app, as my wife will make a honey-do list, then I can just cross off items as I accomplish them. The uconverter app is so useful to have, as more and more measurements are rated in metrics, so that comes in really handy. Also the flashlight has come in handy several times, while it's not a full out flashlight, sometimes I just need that extra little light. Not having to fumble around for my phone which has a better flashlight. What would you do without a calendar so handy on your wrist? GREAT!! An alarm to vibrate rather than wake someone else up as well, talk about well thought out ( I know others have this too), but we are talking about a great watch with a fantastic screen, what other watch can compare it screen to the Gear S? NONE! AND, the list just keeps growing .....

I still love mine but I wish there was some updates. It would nice to see if samsung cared but there hasn't been a single major update since I got it
