are you still really happy with your s5?

Yeah I agree

I can't see how anyone would think the Note 4 IS NOT an upgrade to the S5. My S5 is nice indeed but it's not as nice (to me anyways) as my Note 3 or a Note 4. I know some feel the Notes are just too much of a good thing.

Yep. Still satisfied with it. took it otta the case today after months for a cleaning and cant stop rubbing and touching the rubbery back lol.

I thought you said you were ready for an upgrade?

xD yeah
The Z3 and M8 are about the same level, while the note 4 and iPhone 6 are ahead, but it really just comes down to what I want, and I want something new.

The iPhone 6 has iOS, so I'm not sure I can get that, the note 4 is probably too big, so that leaves the Z3 and M8. I like the M8, but I think the Z3 hits more key points than the M8. Camera, battery, waterproof, etc.

I also want to try something new, I've had two samsung phones now, and I'm ready for some change. Unless of course I get the Note 4.
And I'm sure next spring I'll see the S6 in all its awesomeness and come right back to samsung xD
But who knows, maybe sony will wow me.

Just thought I would drop back in again to say that I have had my S5 since release day, and am happier with it now than the day I unwrapped it.

All the gee whiz factors have now receded and it just plain works for me, day in and day out. No surprises, just good, fast performance.

I don't device hop like a lot of folks who have more money in their jeans than I have $en$e.... I stick with what works until it becomes so obviously outdated, or it breaks....

My Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate was turtle slow, until I learned to tame it. Then it became a good phone and I used it almost 3 years before getting this S5. Big jump that, from the 'S' to the 'S5'.

.

The only phone on the market today i could even put in the same ballpark is the LG G3. The note edge looks like it will compete to. IPhone 6 is old technology. Another old crapple device. I got the S5 and G3 and they ate very close bit i think the S5 edges it.

Yeah that's not true at all
The iPhone 6 with that old technology manages to give a smoother experience than the S5 and bests it in benchmarks.
I personally don't like the G3 much, mainly because of the 2k screen with the 801 processor
I'm trying to get away from lag with this new phone

do you have any problems with the video recording feature? How is the sound quality when you video tape things? I just posted a thread, I have a lot of background noise even in a very quiet room. :(

No, I'm not happy with my S5. I just posted a new thread with my question maybe someone here can help? I just purchased the Galaxy S5 2 weeks ago, (I'm coming from an Iphone 5S). I had to return the first S5 because everyone kept telling me I sounded muffled, my voice mail sounded muffled too no matter how many times I tried to change the configurations and enable noise reduction and disable it, didn't make a difference. Verizon exchanged it out for another new Galaxy S5. The call quality and voicemail all sound better but the video recording quality is bad. Even in a quiet room there is constant background noise, a shhhhhhhhhhhhhh sound. If someone talks in the video you still hear a shhhhh in the background. My ceiling fans were turned off, a/c off and windows closed to get a very quiet room to test in. I have tried everything I can think of and I can't correct this issue and if that issue were fixed I would be happy as a clam.

Have you tried returning the second one for an additional exchange?

No, I had a hard time getting this one today because I came 2 days after the 14day exchange period. They "made" this exchange happen. Obviously I can take it in and say listen to this but I don't know what they can do. I may have to send it in for a repair, I hate to do that and them send me out a refurbished phone. I was hoping there was a fix for this, maybe software since the call quality and voicemail quality is ok. I downloaded a video app from the app store but it doesn't play from the app it defaults to the phone video player.

Just so disappointing, mostly everyone else is happy with theirs and can it be that I got 2 duds? Maybe I should have gone with the Iphone 6. :(
