Arranging apps in apps edge folders

How do you rearrange the apps in apps edge folders in the edge panel? I'd like to have them in alphabetical order, but when I manually move them around then reopen the folder, they're back in the same position as before.

I find the apps edge most useful for setting up pairs of apps to run split-screen

I never moved mine, but just tried. They didn't rearrange. I even shut off my phone to log in with my fingerprint and it stayed the same.

I have T-Mobile, USA. Maybe it's the provider's decision? Or country?

Mine is unlocked on Verizon.

If I leave the app positions alone, they're always in the same location when I open the folder. If I manually reposition one then close the folder, a few are in some random position.

I removed one of the folders with the auto recorder issue and recreated it. Now the apps don't reorder.
