Arranging home screen shortcuts

I have a hard time putting home screen shortcuts into folders on my S23. I'm using the Samsung launcher. Particularly, in trying to arrange home screen shortcuts to web sites. Once I've got a folder created I seem to chase the folder with the shortcut I'm trying to move into the folder.

I know if I was moving app shortcuts I could go into the folder and use the + to add apps to the folder. Similarly, I can select several shortcuts and create a new folder. But moving shortcuts to web sites into an existing folder leaves me chasing the folder icon...

Any help?

I've periodically had the same problem with my Samsung(s), and wonder what the magic variables are that cause it. Normally, after much frustration I'll eventually get the shortcut/icon into the folder, but with no sense about why or what I did to finally have success. I don't think it's limited to the S23.

🔝. . Same here. The chastely folder chasing mystery has befallen my S23 several times as well. To the point of my giving up the chase. 😕

For me, it seems to be a matter of speed. If you approach the folder relatively slowly with the icon, then it's more likely to move out of the way. If you zip in faster, it might be more reliable.

Basically the same with my Startpage search engine, for adding shortcuts: I tap the [ ... ] vertical ellipsis > Add to Home screen > Create shortcut > Add > then touch & hold the icon, and it appears on the Home screen.

I think I was going too slowly. I knew I'd been able to do it sometimes. After reading your note I got it first try 5 times in a row !
