Ars Technica: Moto X (second generation) Review

Re: The Verge opinion of the Moto X 2014

Wow. You had a Moto X for ten days, so you totally know about it, right?

Meanwhile, I've had a Moto X for over a year now, and I have gotten as much as 14+ hours with 6+ hours of screen time before needing to charge again at 19%. Other times I've gone as long as 17+ hours and still was only down to 61% on the battery.

So what was that you were saying about thinking you know about the Moto X's battery after owning it for a whole 10 days?

10 days is plenty to determine if the battery will be enough for you. I had the OG X for two months and the battery was a total disappointment. And the fact that moto didn't make battery a high priority is another disappointment.

I love the notifications of the X but the battery doesn't make it all day and I wouldn't consider myself a heavy user. I was set to upgrade to the new X before it was even announced but I'm going to pass. I've been sitting on an upgrade since January with Verizon waiting on these last 2 weeks and nothing really seems worthy of an upgrade. I was really hoping for a powerhouse in the 4.5-5" range. I guess I'll keep waiting

it is not that bad i don't think. i have seen peeps with over a day and 3.5 hous screen. just as i have seen some with 12 hours and 90 min screen. i am a decently light user. i get 48 hours on lazy weekends and 36 hours with 90 min screen every other time.
