art vs dalvik?

Currently my s5 is on kitkat and i set it to art and it doesnt seem too good,whenever someone messages me it takes a while to turn on and only the recent keys and back buttons light up but screen is black. Im just curious,in terms of real life usage,which is more preferrable?

From many things I've read, Dalvik is much more stable on KitKat. ART is the standard if you update to lollipop, and my S5 on lollipop runs fine.
